I'd like to hear from those that have tried both ways; brining and not brining, is there a loss of taste?

They stopped laying about a week ago! My quail are indoors and I've added extra light on a timer a couple of days ago but they haven't started back laying yet. Will they? Or are they done until Spring? This is the first fall/winter with them for me and I'm surprised that they quit so soon.

I have 26 eggs in the bator ....28 chickens in the coop...2 hens in bumblefoot-bay (hen hospital) and 6 chicks in a brooder. Do I fit in? LOL
