First I don’t want to upset anyone but other than my light Brahma I really just don’t like white chickens. With that being said we went to TSC to get some new Cochins and a couple new Rouens and the only thing they had were yellow/white Cochin chicks. I picked out four with grey backs hoping by...
Well since there isn't a breed discussion thread on this particular bird, though i do not see this one being hundreds of pages long anyways, does anyone else have a Golden 300? I did not realize that's what i had gotten until i spoke to the hatchery and sent them photos. I simply needed a...
So i and a few others believed this duckling would be a Splash Swedish but now after 3-4 weeks the belly feathers and back feathers are coming in brown with black accents. I've been speaking to the hatchery and they believe it is a Black Swedish without the traditional white belly pattern. What...
Alright so from one breeder i purchased a Welsummer chick. From a different breeder a few days later i picked up a Cream Legbar. Without even thinking i put them in together without any markings. Now as they are starting to develop i notice one has a single comb and the other has something more...
So all afternoon today our turkey was walking around the yard squatting. At first it was only on the driveway, then all over the yard, then the neighbors yard, then a different neighbors driveway. She has never wandered so far or so much before. Is she just confused with what is happening to...
Alright for those gearing up for Spring and getting ready to get new chicks or get rid of some old hens for some new pullets, the McDonough Tractor Supply off Highway 81 E will be holding it's annual Chicken Swaps for Spring. To avoid any confusion we will only be doing these swaps February...
Alright so we added 3 bourbon red poults to our flock of chickens and ducks about 8 weeks ago. The poults were raised with 4 bantam showgirls so that they would integrate easier into the flock. Well we are now around 8-9 weeks and one of the triplets is getting a noticeably red neck while the...
Chicken Swap Part 2. So it's safe to say the TSC McDonough Chicken Swap was successful even with the ups and downs. Here's some changes that we will have to make going forward. First we will be limiting this event to only POULTRY, home made goods, tack and fresh produce. Unfortunately because of...
Let's start out with. I know, i know, too young to tell. Here's the thing though. I got an assortment of chicks the other day. 1 cochin, 2 EE, 2 Red Rangers, 2 white rocks, 3 black and white bantams and what i believed in my haste were either 2 more red rangers or 2 red sex links but i didn't...
I've got 3 of these little black and yellow/white bantam chicks and i have found 1 or 2 possiblities but was looking for any other suggestions. The legs are black with yellow and black toes.
How many people here decide they want to learn a new pasta recipe or get into baking and head straight to their local grocery store to ask one of the part time cashiers for their favorite lasagna recipe? Streusel recipe? So why does everyone get so angry that a 17 year old boy working a part...
Technically they're making me call it an Animal Swap but we really know what's up. The Chicken Swap will take place Saturday February 14th at the TSC in McDonough Ga. from 9am to 3pm.
So far i know the FFA will be here doing a cookout, IH Farmall will be here with their antique tractors and...
Worst pictures you'll see today. I'll get better ones if necessary. I know these are terrible. Age is varying with the newest shots being at approximately 13 weeks.
My little chick is entered in the Gerber Baby Contest. Voting begins tomorrow and her Entry ID is 263784. Thanks for the consideration!

I bought 2 treat balls with the bells on the bottom to entertain everyone while they are locked up at night during the winter. So far i have been putting a mixed lettuce into the ball with little chunks of carrot and it lasts about an hour. What else could i put in the ball to entertain them...
Everytime a flock of black birds fly over my property or sit in the trees around my house my chicks run for cover. Right now half of them are hiding in a corner of the run and the other half are hiding in a corner of the coop. Just curious if i'm the only one this happens to.
