    Dirt bath time

They love their tires filled with sand and garden dirt! I let them out to the main yard to have some grass from time to time but not often. You can see what they did to their coop in no time that used to be full of grass. They will be having babies and some ducks join them soon.

Duck questions. Thinking of getting 2

Hello Everyone, I am interested in raising two ducks this spring. I have a coop of 12 chickens (all hens). Does anyone here integrate the two, do they all get along or is there issues? Can they all live in the same area together? Do ducks typically bully chickens or vice versa or not at all? I...

Nesting boxes! Great idea I found and tried out

I found some great ideas online from other chicken fanatics and I made new nesting boxes out of 7 gallon buckets. I work in the food industry so these buckets come free to me. The Hens enjoy them. The top one is their favorite and they often fight for position and time in that one. The one right...

Hi all, quick question, has anyone in MN not had eggs in a while? I am thinking I am going on two months now. I know we have had plenty cold and no many days above 30 lately in most areas. Moved babies to coop at 4.5 weeks old, free at 7

Hi Everyone, I raised babies for the first time this spring. I got them April 13th at one day old. They stayed in the dog kennel until right about week 4 when they ran out of room. I know most say around 10-12 weeks to release to the coop but I integrated sooner. What I did was take our rabbit...

Advice on controlling feces in food/water

Hi Everyone, I have my chickens food and water up on cinder blocks and there is not much room for them to stand on the blocks but somehow they always tend to get their feces in the waterbowl, etc. These are probably a good foot off the ground. Should I try to go higher or does this just happen...
