Doing a little research on duck and chicken selection for my flock. If both chicken and duck varieties lay white eggs, how do you tell them apart?

I am expecting my Peking and Cayuga ducks to start laying eggs soon. Do their egg sizes start small, like hens, and increase with each laying? Or will the Perkings start laying large eggs from the beginning?

My ducks will join my six adult hens when fully feathered. Since the ducks will be on grower feed until they lay their first egg, how do I keep the hens from eating the duck food?

I am picking up ducklings from Tractor supply today. I will line a box with pine chips and place it in a wired closed cage with a heat light clip. Any suggestions on getting started (ie starter feed, etc.)

My 2 Golden Comets are 7 months old. Both girls laid an egg yesterday for the first time…yay! No eggs from either today, though.

Hi there! My husband designed two 5 gallon buckets into a waterer and a feeder. Is there anyway we can stop the chickens from perching and pooing On top of these items? Our chicken pen has ladders and roosting bars for the chicks to perch on.
