Such a cutie - but what is it???

Sold to me as a silkie but I’m thinking not. Perhaps a cross? 8 weeks old - thinking it’s probably a little cockerel, but really hard to tell! Would love to hear your guesses!

15 week old lavender Orpington - how do I not know if it’s a roo??? I’m usually alright at this game…smh

It’s a roo, right? Not crowing and while I believe it’s a roo, I’m not familiar with lavender orpingtons.

7.5 week old chicks (new breeds to me) - sexing guesses

These chicks are just a bit shy of 8 weeks and I have no clue! These are new breeds for me and I’m finding them more difficult than normal to guess. 2 dark brahmas, 2 buff brahmas, and 1 lavender Orpington I’d appreciate your insight. Thank you all!

    Buff Orpington? I’m skeptical.

I have two - they both look like Meeker here - sold to me as Buff Orpingtons; 10 weeks old. They seem awfully red-tinted. Are they something else or is this what young BO pullets look like? Thanks!!!

9 week old EE - pullet or cockerel?

This is my only suspect out of 17 (thank heavens - my last batch was 7/7 roos!!!). What do y’all think? Still too early probably, but why not?

Bonus Chick from Cackle - OE or Cream Legbar?

Is anyone able to positively identify this surprise chick? Also - does the white spot mean it’s a little cockerel? Thanks in advance for your help!!!

    6 Weeks - Gender guesses?

Out of the seven chicks I hatched - four of which are most certainly roosters - these three are my only hope for hens. Would love your opinions… #1 - Lakenvelder #2 - Easter Egger #3 - Olive Egger

Clarification Question - Round vs Straight Feathers

First time chicken mom - my seven hatched about 3.5 weeks ago, so I have lots of questions re: chicken lingo. When people say that pullet feathers are more rounded and cockerel feathers are more straight, what exactly does that mean? Like the ends of the feather itself? How it fans out to the...

FBCM - any chance it could still be a pullet?

3.5 weeks old… This seems to be the chick evading all the best guesses. Too soon to call or is it a foregone conclusion that I have my fourth roo? (Forgive the first time chicken mom - they kind of consume all my thoughts now that they finally hatched and joined our little family!!!)

    What are these weirdos doing???

Not their first field trip outside a little over three weeks old and they all just want to sit on my lap. Now I am NOT complaining - but are they scared or something? The weather is nice, they are familiar with the location, I am stumped!

First Timer - Best Guesses hen or roo?

I know it is way too soon, but I’d love to hear some veteran opinions on sex. I hatched 7 almost three weeks ago (one auto-sexing) and am already in love with these little goofballs!
