I have had my dove for a year now. She is always free flying put of her cage until I put her to bed a night and let her out in the morning. She laid an egg on her bag of milit treats and I read to not take the egg from her but now idk if I can put her to bed in her cage or if I should leave her...
So I have a white ring neck Dove and she has been showing signs of wanting another bird around. If I was to get a companion for her that wasn't another dove what could I get? Or does it have to be another dove period?
My dove started doing this just a few days ago. It's also the only time they have every let me pet them, is this a male or female behavior? And is she/he ok??
My Dove
I have had them for almost a year now. Also idk why they picked the messy bookcase lol
I noticed this morning her poops look more black/green when they are normally white. Is she sick?
She free flies the house and has a spot she loves so I put paper towels under her to catch what dhe drops. And the color worries me.
And they are adorable. My morning is normally be letting them out of the pet playpen and them sitting on my arm while I watch youtube shorts lol and drink coffee to wake up.
My Dove doesn't seem to mind them either lol
My slikie hen Mango was so muddy and cold I gave her a nice warm bath and she spent the day with me in a warm house watching TV. But I took this picture after her bath and just had to share it. X3
My oldest polish hen (she lays eggs) (2 y) is suddenly every day jumping on my slikie hen (3 y) trying to mate with her in a very rooster way. Even pulling some feathers from my poor slikies neck when she is mounting her. Why is she acting this way? She has never done this before she just...
I would love to see them.
This is mine. Her name is Blossom and she is a GoldenLaced Polish. She is also the reason my user name is what it is. And my icon lol
So I caved and gave her two babies.
She is turly happy lol
Meet Mango's (my slikie) two children.
Salmon: the yellow one
And Faverolle: the black one
Lol
So this is my first time owning a Sapphire Gem, I picked her up as a chick this past April along with 5 other chicks (all different breeds I only grabbed one Sapphire Gem)
And now she has gone missing. Has been missing for 2 maybe 2 1/2 days now. My chickens free range and are typically safe...
My dove just ate a whole popcorn colonel I didn't realize was on my floor. Is she going to be ok? I put her in her cage so I could vacuum so no more is around. I have only had her for a few months now.
I just wanted to share what I feed my chickens as a treat. We don’t eat eggs fast enough or sell them so for now when we have a good chuck of eggs we hard boil them for our pet rats and dog. But for the chickens we make a big omelet with chicken feed in it (the one that helps egg laying) cuz we...
Got a new coop with a metal floor in the sleeping/roosting area for easy clean and already I am seeing a problem. My poor chickens can't walk on it, they slip and slid and one if my polishes ran out of the coop so fast, assuming tripping, cuz she slammed into the face that is part of the Run...
I have never seen a chicken face plant until today. I was letting my chickens out of the coop and my fat chicken named Poppy (Cochin) ran over my not so fat chicken Lavender (Lavender Orpington) making her face plant and now she has been acting hurt. I checked her over and she seems ok as far as...
Ok hear me out. So we all know if your dog or even cat get to dirty you tend to take them to a pet groomer. While chickens who go to show normally just get groomed at home by their owner.
But what if there was a chicken (or Poultry) groomer? Would you take your chickens to one?
Random thought...
I have a slikie hen who has gone full broody, more so then she has in the past. She just got some chicks a while back who are basically full grown now. (She didn't hatch them, I bought them for her to raise) and she proved to be a good mother. But now the chicks are older and my hen has gone...
I'll post a picture of her later. But I noticed there is a bump or maybe growth on my polish chickens head and I'm super worried. Idk if it's from the hair ties I put in her hair so she could see better or from something else.
She is acting normal, she is running around with the other...
