Hovabator 1620N and auto turner in East Tennessee

I have a used Hovabator 1620N with auto turner for sale. The turner has 1 of the tabs broken but can be repaired. Got it as a birthday gift, used it 3 or 4 times. Am getting out of chickens, sadly and this could go to good use for someone who is wanting to hatch their own. Clean and disinfected...

Anyone had the pleasure of this happening? There is NO way shes allowing me even near her nest and my alpha roo hears her and comes running and puffing up to protect her. Should I just let her be and remove any chicks who hatch or should i move her and her nest to a seperate enclosure with a...

LOL but i dont know what exactly to do with it! It looks like a capsule, it's sort of pink and i am not 100% about the type of chicken she is. Here is a pic of the egg and one of the layer. Input greatly appreciated, i'm thinking i'll put it in the bator since i'm on day 10 and by lockdown...

    New girl on the block

Seems to be somewhat of a floozie! I've had my newbies in the grow out pen as a health and social precaution for a week and a half now. I bought the cutest little, what I thought was a Columbian colored cochin, I'm not sure since she doesnt have feathered legs and she's not very nice. She may...

    Wanted Langshan and Standard Cochins

Fell deeper in love with this breed yesterday. I'd LOVE pair of black Langshan's I'd prefer mature adults but will take younger. I just want them to be able to be outside this fall. Also would like a pair of standard cochins, really not particular on color as long as they arent white. Don't...

    Closet a good place

Is my walkin closet a good place to set my bator? My bathroom has tons of extra light and not a steady temp with the skylight and everything. I think my closet would be the most steady temp. Any thoughts on this? My eggs should be here either today or tomorrow so i want to have it all preheated...

I just ordered some sussex eggs for my first attempt. I hope I didn't choose poorly for my first time. I'm super excited, are there any tips that I need to keep in mind? Think i'm gonna try combining today

I think i'm going to attempt to allow the nuggets in with the big boys today. They've been in a seperate pen inside the main run for 3weeks plus now, So they've been looking at each other thru fencing for that long. Kinda nervous as they are banty's and the others are rocks. Wish me luck as I...

Ohhh Summer Cold...how I Hate Thee!

I'm the type of person who would much rather have a stomach virus over a cold any day. I thought I dodged this bullet untill 2 days ago when it hit be between the eyes with a vengance. My poor chickies havent been messed with much since I've gotten home and i KNOW they miss it and so do I. But...

    Rabbits with the chickens

My initial want was to have the bunnies lie with the chickens. Since they are borrowing animals i'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with keeping the 2 types of critters together and how did you keep them from going under and out of your pen?
