I got the go ahead today to run this swap in the spring . this store just opened 2 weeks ago.
all feedback is welcome . looking like a 2nd Saturday of the month swap date.
I have a 7 month old and he has come at me over 10 times. drew blood on me twice. everytime I turn my back on him he charges me doesn't matter if he is in the run or if I let them out to free range he comes at me . I wanted to use him for my breeding with my barred rocks to get black sexlink...
first time I have had this breed lay this early. usually it has been 24-28 weeks in the past. I credit it to the new grain im using I switched to poulin grain from blueseal. what a difference I have noticed they are developing a lot faster and look a lot healthier. I am inpressed with poulin grain.
I have new pullets that are 17-20 weeks old. 3 just started laying this past week. I have gotten a few soft spongy shell eggs. they are on poulin grower crumblet finisher. should I mix some oyster shell in the grower feed or should I wait it out. . I know the first few new eggs will be spongy...
I am having a 10x16 shed with a aframe roof built this week. plan is to have a 5ft double door on the front 10 ft wall. ten hole nest box on one 16ft wall a chicken door as well. the the roosts on the back 10ft wall using 2x4s flat side down. I was thinking of 3 windows one on each wall.
just wanted to say hello to everyone. I moved 3 months ago and sold the chickens after getting out of a 12 year relationship that was off and on. staying with family now and looking forward to having chickens again. also looking to find a happy lady to love as well .

my hens slacked off the end of june . they layed all winter and spring at full capacity. i had a spell with mites in the coop got that taken care of. i have white leghorns, golden comets, rhode island reds, easter eggers, bantams, all are 18 months to 3 years old,
noticed lastnight that i have redmites in cracks and crevices and on chickens and nest boxes. i treated the coop and chickens with manna poultry protector spray. all i had was a 16 oz bottle. used that up and still have more mites crawling.
half of my chickens stopped laying in june . i suspect they have dust mites or northern fowl mites . i have seen a few of these same insects crawling on the walls of my coop. the walls are a little dusty.
