    Eggs near Fairbanks AK

I am near Fairbanks AK and I am looking for hatching eggs to start a flock. I want a colorful and fun flock and a good looking egg basket. I am primarily looking for chickens but will also entertain ducks if any one is keeping them in the area. Any help is appreciated.

The roo has black feet with black nails, one has black feet with yellow nails and one has black and grey mottled feet with yellow nails. Until the roo doubled in size this was the ONLY way we could tell them apart.

Thank you so much, that makes it a heck of a lot easier to figure out. That pretty much makes the one rooster the Blue/Black Maran. The blue roo and white hen are OEs, the three blackies are EEs (they are almost identical except for their feet so I think they are the same batch, but who knows)...

Here is the illustrated mystery. I don't know who "Blue" is but one of those eggs hatched and survived. I labelled two of the OE eggs for those two roosters I already posted pictures of with feathered feet. We are pretty sure that one of the EE eggs is a white hen that is getting random...

Hey Donna, what type would you say this is? It is from the eggs we got from you.

Lav Split Cockerell and Blue Maran Cockerell

Sorry, we are not trying to pick up any more chickens, we currently have 10 living in a coop designed for 5. The Roos are the easy ones to decide to get rid of, now the tough choices. Also, the woman we got the eggs from says that these are both Olive Eggers. They both have feathered feet...

I was away when they hatched and Shannon was real busy so keeping track of them wasn't real easy. We also weren't real concerned with who was who. We just wanted diversity, we definitely have that. Now if they would just lay me an egg before I leave. This is Juniors foot, on the left you can...

Actually, both of these guys got the feathered legs. We had three OEs hatch and we have 3 Black chicks, I was pretty sure of that, but who knows. We also got one that is all white except for a couple half brown feathers, any idea what that one is?

Help me find a Home! Well it finally happened, one of our girls crowed at me this morning. So I did enough research to find out about saddle feathers and it looks like we have 2 roosters. Both of them were hatched April 29th from eggs we got from DMRippy. These are our 2 favorite out of...

I am trying to find "river sand" to finish off our coop but I am having no luck. I have called both of our local quaries and neither carries anything more then course construction sand. I am trying to follow what was posted in the tutorial about sand but I can't find what they are talking...

This morning there are 5 chicks and 2 unzipping. From the picture it looks like a couple Blue barred rock, a Lav split, a Blue Maran and an EE.

Pictures will have to wait. For the time being I am living the Army camping life and I can't post pics from my phone. The EE that hatched was named Lacey by my 4 year old and she is still all wet. We have a Lav that pipped another EE and it looks like one of the Blue barred rocks. Kinda hard to...

Hey Donna, one of the Easter Eggers hatched this afternoon! Shannon said dour more have pipped but two don't look like they are still moving. They were just locked down yesterday morning so it is a bit early. I am wondering if it is too warm in the bator. The temp was spot on and before the egg...
