the mother is semi wild and had 13 other babies with her. I thought I was helping, but I guess not...the last chick is very vocal but wont move much. Is there anything I can do?
I had three and two passed away in the night, theres one left, but I think he may be sick too, what do I do!!
there symtoms before they died where lethargic, not drinking , not moving and I can hear the stones in its gizzard crunching.
thank you for all your help!! the egg had a personal funeral in a very deep and far away place, this was my first time experiencing a broody hen and I will hopefully get fertile eggs next spring if she decides to go broody again.
What would happen if I simply took the egg away? no chick.((feed store just stopped selling chicks...))
P.s. She only sat on one egg? would I just need one chick?
My Production road island red has been sitting on an egg for about a month now and nothing has happened yet....((not sher what too do..))
-Yes, this is her first egg she's been broody on
-We have wild roosters in our yard, so I think one of them is the daddy
-No, I have no idea what to look...

it could be she still in shock from the experience but it could also be that her air way was damaged in the attack. I suggest keeping an eye on her till she starts to feel beter.
The only thing you can really do is hold her down and gentle pull it off. dont use any liquid or disinfectint or the tick may relece harmful chemicals into your dog.
