Can someone please tell me where the hatching pheasant eggs thread is, or give me some tips?
I was told I can hatch them with chickens, but for some reason the eggs of a friend of mine have been failing at hatch, possibly shrink wrapped inside the egg.
Thoughts?
Can't wait to post pix! Just got my first two pheasant babies today. 2 weeks old. Hoping they are Red Goldens. I even just picked up a mixed dozen of yellow golden and red golden.
Excited to see how well they do!
As a newbie to pheasant, I am always interested in tios, thoughts am land ideas...
My bantams started hatching get on day 20. I have 12. Seems like the first 8 hatched on day 1 (20) then 4 more yesterday.
Hoping for at least 3 more to get a 50% hatch rate.
One baby, my little white silkie has splayed legs. Hope we can get "her" all fixed up!
10. 6 silkies 2 d'uccles and 2 cochin.
At candle day 18, there were at least 30 viable eggs.
I think I killed them with low humidity or draft when trying to add water.
But, today is day 21. So, I have hopes for the next two days...
I am keeping my fingers crossed to be adopting a bird this week. My heart is set on an umbrella cockatoo. But, we are going to go meet an amazon, a u2, and a couple sweet goffins.
And I am hoping I get chosen by the u2! (As I am a huge believer in the pet picks the person), but, I will settle...
I love all my babies. But some just like to cuddle more, and like me more. She would meet me at the grow out pen ever morning, and follow me around, and talk to me. All the others could care less, unless I'm gonna feed their faces. ;)
No running the incubator for me this summer. Had two broodies hens and a broody goose. Who knew they would kill all the eggies. :'(!!!?
TOO HOT!!!
I am going to start again in October or Novemeber.
