    MARYLAND THREAD!

Lol its ok thank you for the suggestions! I ended up having to get rid of my ducks because they changed the law and a neighbor complained. You can only have poultry now if you have .5 a acre or more unless you apply for a special permit that I was told could be expensive. Honestly the covid 19...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Does anyone know of a butcher willing to do ducks and how much it costs? My ducks snuck off and hatched babies and I have to get rid of at least 10 males the fighting is just too much.

    Will ducks share ducklings???

I hate to bring this thread back from the dead but I felt I should let you guys know what happened (lost my laptop for a while ;-; ). OK! I left them in that night together and what do you know they both worked together! The cascade adopted all of the babies while the Khaki tried to pick on hers...

    Will ducks share ducklings???

Thank you, and I don't know it seems like as long as the eggs hatch around the same time both mothers will care for them. Khakis for me are kinda ditzy moms, the larger breeds seem more into parenting and protecting but it could just be my ducks. Hopefully, they don't fight like mine are right...

    Will ducks share ducklings???

Aw really? I feel bad taking all of her babies, but I'd rather not see any die. There's no way some will re-imprint on their mom?

    Will ducks share ducklings???

Ok they probably are in danger of that because the cascade accidentally killed 3 of hers when they first hatched, I'll go and see if I can put up a divider thank you! I hope so they weren't fighting when I locked them in but you never know thanks!

    Will ducks share ducklings???

Hi I've only been keeping ducks 1 year, I have 3 khaki hens, 1 khaki drake, and 1 golden cascade hen. I was told ducks only get broody when they turn 2 but all my ducks except 1 khaki got broody hid and hatched out ducklings, each 1 week apart. The first khaki hatched 4 and I penned them in...

HELP,..someone stranded another Pekin duck at the college pond

If you can see what stores near you sell livestock food, if its a male then all flock feeder is fine (even layer is supposed to be ok but I understand that's not the best for male ducks). He probably has lice or mites, if you have the time to let him get in a kiddie pool and wash frequently. I...

    DLM for Ducks

This is my first year with ducks and I use this in their house/run (its just the enclosed area under our porch) so far so good. The very bottom is concrete/rocks and dirt, above that is a mix of chopped straw and pine shavings. I might add grass and chopped leaves to one side to give them some...

    What ducks can fly?

I have Khaki's and yes they can fly, as in fly fly but most of them choose not to, and even when they do they don't fly out of the yard or fly far off. I'm assuming that most of the smaller breeds can fly really well if they wanted to, my mom thought it was just a fluke with ours till a vulture...

I'm getting sick from eating duck eggs

My son is alergic to as the doctors call it "direct" chicken eggs, meaning he can eat food containing eggs like cakes, cookies bread etc but he cannot eat friend, boiled or straight egg products. So you might have that sort of an allergy, do you react if you bake them in bread or things? Is it...

    Feeding ducks coconut oil?

I'm gonna start giving mine coconut oil soon, they're almost 5 months and haven't started laying so I want to make sure they have everything they need to be in good health, I know its supposed to be good for chickens but this is the only topic I've seen pop up about ducks. I hope someone else...

Lame or poorly? Young Welsh harlequin female duck

I'm very new to ducks, so I don't know that this will help. When my duck had a leg injury it limped at first barely then really noticeable, I took her in and gave her a warm bath then made her spend no less than 1 hour in the bath each day so she could take the weight off her leg will still...

    MARYLAND THREAD!

Me too! I had NO idea how hard it would be to get someone to help! People seem to be really intimidated by "farm" animals here even thought just 10 years ago this was almost all farm land! I was afraid I'd have to cancel. And I will, thank you!
