This is our Broody Buff Orpington. She just hatched nine babies last week!

We had our first Broody hen this spring (Buff Orp) and after sitting on the eggs for 3-4 weeks, we have 9 baby chicks! She stayed in her nesting box the entire time, and the other hens used other nesting boxes. She hatched eggs that were a combination of hers and our Brahmas since we have...

THis is Malcom, our Wheaten Marans rooster. He is great for the flock and doesn't bother with people, kids, dogs. He is our only full-grown roo.

We now have six babies occupying our "Summer Coop". Our son's school hatched baby chicks, and we gave them a home. Once they are a little bigger, we will introduce them to our resident flock!

We also have linoleum down in our coop. No issues with sliding since we keep several inches of bedding. We have a large snow shovel that we use to turn it, so we haven't scraped the flooring....(yet)

Thanks! We are really happy with our 2nd coop. We call it the Bachelor Pad, since this is where the new roosters are living in quarantine until we can introduce them to our gals!

Very cool! We just converted an old jungle gym as well!

We took an old jungle gym off a friends hands last year and it has sat in the corner of our property. Well, we needed a quarantine for the new chickens we plan to add to our flock, and my husband had the brilliant idea of converting the jungle gym to a coop. I think it's great for a scrap...
