Sick Chicken - Lethargic, not eating/drinking well. Green poop

If she has a limp it could be a neurological issue like Marek's or Leukosis. The dark green poo can mean that she is dehydrated. What are you feeding her and is she eating/ drinking? She should be separated from the flock in her own cage, and it should be warm and private, but ideally she can...

    Hock joint injury

He unfortunately kept declining. He was a big heavy cockerel actually, not even a year old, Idk what he did but had he filled out completely upon reaching adulthood he would've been huge. He never had any symptoms except the lameness in the one leg so I'm sure it was an injury and we just...

    Hock joint injury

Anyone had any luck curing these? We have a big rooster whose hock joint is sore. He's been on hospital pen rest with baby aspirin for a week with no improvement. No other symptoms and he is eating well. I'm thinking vet wrapping it might be an option, and we are going to try epsom salts...

OH wonderful. Well all i can say is beware. I prefer not to post an online review as I'm not interested in dealing with retaliation and I'm sure she would try to.

    Strange Peacock Behavior

Geez! I wonder what he would've done to the lawn mower? :D My last two peacocks were very friendly, curious birds who never acted aggressive like that, except to the white roosters. (what is it with white??} and then only during breeding season. They would fight with each other of course...

    Strange Peacock Behavior

I havent seen any more pea eggs since then and she never acts broody.. So apparently it was a one time thing, very strange. I wonder what could be bothering him...maybe the roosters? He has always been more stressed out than our other peacocks in the past. But why just Pearl? He has never...

    Strange Peacock Behavior

She's already seen this, I think, so apparently not. Poor Pearl. This afternoon though she was not too far away from him, happily having some sunflower seed treats, and he left her alone.

    Strange Peacock Behavior

I've mentioned this before but just have to again because it is so strange to me. We have a 5 year old IB peacock who of course thinks he's the best thing ever. We also have a Charcoal peahen who is 6 years old. They have lived together for the past five years. Every spring and summer as soon...

Comprehensive list of poisonous plants and trees

Omg we've had so many of these plants and trees in our yard and on our property and honestly have never had any problems. And I beg to differ....chickens are cautious about what they sample. Also I accidentally gave our flock avocado on a leftover salad recently...and nothing happened. We've had...

4 week old chick with leg injury

In our flock we have never had more than one bird with Marek's (or whatever neuro problem it is, and there are a few conditions that have similar symptoms) get it at a time. Many develop immunity naturally. If your chick hasn't developed additional symptoms by now, it is probably an injury.

4 week old chick with leg injury

in addition to above, please keep a close eye on her. Sometimes Marek's disease and other neurological issues start out as just lameness with no apparent cause. Hopefully it is just a sprain or bruise! Bumblefoot can also present as lameness so as has been said, look for anything unusual on her...

Old Rooster with multiple foot issues

Sadly, he did not make it, he died sometime overnight Sunday night. I thought the antibiotics were helping his feet, they did look a little better, but he was drinking a lot of water and I knew it must be because he had a nasty infection brewing. I did examine his feet after he died and it was...
