Update: After 3 days of Tylan 50 orally the 3 sick chickens coughed and sneezed less and after day 5 I stopped the Tylan because they were done with the sneezing and coughing and now, a week later, they seem all healthy. Thank you all for your help :)
No, I cannot afford to get lab test done...this is why Im trying to get help here. Most of the people come here for that exact reason to ask for help from more experienced chicken lovers. If we could afford it then we would!!! Last time I went to the vet to get my chicken checked up was $200...
So if the Tylan 50 doesn't work, this should probably cover it? Or should I also order something else? I was considering Baytril but that has permanent egg withdraw...
I just bought a bottle of Denagard from Amazon so it can be delivered by Christmas. If the Tylan 50 doesn't work after 5 days of treatment then I will give them that since I read in some posts that Denagar is great for respiratory diseases with no egg withdraw period. Does anyone have any...
The symptoms started 1 week ago with the rooster then 2 more hens and I have separated the sick birds days ago and started to treat with Tylan 50 orally. The symptoms are sneezing, coughing and ruffled feather and maybe low activity. They seems to eat, drink just fine so far. After how many days...
This afternoon will be 2 days since I have started the treatment with Tylan 50 and they are not worse and they are not better. I will continue the treatment but I need to order a broad spectrum antibiotic because I really don't know if they have MG. You mentioned Baytril but it says permanent...
Thank you. I started with Tylan 50 orally and will see how it goes. In the future I can try what you suggested since my Tylan 50 is expired and I will toss it after this treatment anyway. I also found Fish Mox which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for fish online and was wondering if anyone used...
I have the same problem as the lady above. I have tried VetRx and vitamins and electrolytes in water and it didn't do anything. I have Tylan 50 injection and I would like to give it orally 3 times a day but my bottle expired in Jan 2019 so 11 months ago and I cannot find a new bottle due to the...
Awww that poor chicken, she needs some proteins for sure! That chicken beat all odds and came to you for a reason, but to each their own believes. If you give it away for free to someone you don't know online there is a big chance it will end up in the soup pot :(
I have a flock of 10 hens and...
I have my own chickens and I eat chicken eggs on a daily basis with no problem. A friend of mine gave a dozen eggs couple days ago and I was so excited to try them out for the first time in my life. I boiled 2 and at lunch I put them in my salad. I haven't tried any other new food that day and a...
I had a silkie with respiratory infection. She looked slugish in the morning but no other symptoms. In the afternoon she was coughing and sneezing and seemed to gag too but was still able to walk around and be somewhat alert. I brought her inside the house and gave her water with probiotics and...
Thank you for answering. What is the name of the ''deck and fence stain'' you use? I have 340 feet of 6 foot fence to spray and I was trying to keep it on the budget. I also live in Florida and I was told that I should really spray my fence because it won't last more than 6-7 years if I don't...
I have a 6 foot wooden backyard fence that my chickens roam in and I need to spray it with water seal. I was thinking Thompson's water seal but I am scared to use it because some of that product will run on the bottom of the fence and touch the grass that the chickens might eat. Is it deadly to...
I would like to buy anywhere from 10 to 16 Black Sex Link eggs that came from Black Sex Links parents (Black Star) chickens. I need them to be shipped middle of July. Please reply or message me with the price and shipping.
Anyone? I messaged the person that posted the pics and I was told the chicken is eating and drinking and she is behaving normally and is due to lay eggs next month. No others chickens in his flock have this issue.
My friend on Facebook posted 3 pics of his Rhode Island chicken. I'm not sure what it is but I was wondering if anyone can tell please? The chicken is losing feathers and thats all I know so far...
