I have been showing my pair for a while and normally win AOSB. I got DQ this time with all of my yokos because of the little white in their earlobes... this is what I get for trying to show with the judge being the former APA president that ran 3 terms.. lol. But I had this breeder of Ko Shamo...
Is she acting lethargic? Is she avoiding the rest of the flock and lying in a dark corner by herself. Is she not wanting to eat, but is extremely thirsty?
I am setting 8 Swedish ducks out of my second breeding pen and 17 from my 1st Swedish duck breeding pen tomorrow! I will also set 18 silver Spangled Appenzellers spirzhaubens, a dozen frizzled Cochin bantams, white sultan, and hopefully some Rosecomb white leghorn bantam eggs. I also have a...
Hey guys!!! I am back, and ready for this years breeding season. I will sadly not be able to participate in the hatching on Easter weekend because I have a state spring Poultry show to attend, and would not be home that weekend. So instead I am hatching before and after that weekend.
I have one question. What size Baytril tablet would I need to
I have a question. What Mg Baytril tablet would I need? One of my pekin ducklings has it and it's eye is now starting to rain with water. So I would like to get it fixed soon.
Hello, I am looking for 1 or 2 decent quality red shoulder hens for my male. (I got 6 and all were males...) I am located in Colorado and am hoping that someone would be willing to ship if I pay for it.
Thanks Nathan
Oops that mot have been a Wyandotte over my naked neck. They look so similar it's not even funny. I also find out that the supposed to be australorp a are actually black orpingtons. Go figure. I was told by many people that are in the show business that they are austrolorps, but the judge at the...
I am just patiently waiting here to see if the austrolorp hatches. I will have to clip my roo on Saturday after the show, because it is a pain doing AI with 2 inches of fluff around the vent ( even though somehow you got a fertile one).
I feather sexed most of mine and seem pretty accurate. The buff ones look to be all pullets, the dorkings look like a pair, austrolorps looks like a pair, polish are pullets, and the blue and white Cochins look like Roos.
Ok well they only have a little bit of black showing, and the tail feathers, and on the the primaries. I hate CRX so I am avoiding them as much as possible. The kid that won reserve grand was with a meat pen of RIR, and it was his first time even having birds! I will get some pics.
Dang it, the rooster must be on break then. Stupid silkie... The austrolorps are something... Hopefully they are fertile for you.. I can't get a gosh darn one. If you want, next year I will have something cool that I can send to you, that the grandkids would love. Cough cough frizzle Cochins...
I have a question. Are the Buckeyes supposed to have a few black dotted feathers on the neck? I have 11 for my meat pens, and I have already picked my 3, since they weigh the best, and are the best looking. I also picked out 3 for showing. I will try to get pics tomorrow.
