Meyer adopt me bargain bin chicks/poults

We are wanting just something random and some broad breasted turkeys after our hatches next spring/summer and we are looking at this. Do you know the minimum number to ship? The cost of shipping? I can get between 5-15, and has anyone gotten this bargain, was it worth it? Did you get turkeys? Do...

INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

I'm feeling like we've had a tough year birds wise, but my husband assures me that we really haven't. We've lost 4 adult hens that were some favorites in there, one fell from rafters, one fell in the old feeder, and two died I believe due to something they ate or maybe being egg bound but they...

I need to update my earlier post. The yellow chipmunk ones are actually silver x white rock and they're so sweet, I thought they couldn't be because I only have the one hen but nope, she had 9 chicks! And my 5 Sussex had the 8 others lol. The silver rock x speckled Sussex were the wild type and...

Thanks everybody <3 we've never had an animal so hurt it had to be put down. I'm going to have to decide now what to do with the cross beak and the maybe cross beak... I've never had any survive ... Of the 3 we've ever had but I feel wretched about it... Same reason I've assisted some hatches; I...

So my husband was mowing by the cockerel cages and we had 33 mix breed cockerels in there separated by chicken wire and there are 2 separate coops. While he was going past one spooked and jumped through the wires and the he's 5 weeks the others are 4 months, so at least 1/2 the size and he...

Interesting, so then what do you make of the very different looking chicks? Is it normal to get chicks that don't look a thing a like like that? And the yellow ones are filling in yellow I think and the wild looking ones are filling in white ...

    Mixed breeds

Ok so for breeds that the hen is one color and the rooster another within that breed ... Are they different as chicks also as in being sex linked. Because I expect the little pullets to be white with black spots and the cockerels to be yellow with black ish 'spots' and of the 2 pullets and a...

i'm guessing girls? I'm guessing boys? They're 2/3? Weeks I can't remember off the top of my head it's been a long week... They're growing though. They're miffed here because I took off their leg bands that were keeping them not mixed in with the mix breed chicks we hatched. They're separate...

Chick not growing or feathering out....

That's very interesting. I don't know how they would get worms. I hatched them here from clean eggs from here and they've never left the house... It's weird. This chick hatched just fine on it's own I believe, seems 1/100 is just runty around here if we wanted to work out some stats. We have one...

So I have an obscure question: I keep a few brahmas but they're my favorite.., I have been looking for some buff laced standard eggs but the farm they had come from is no longer in business and no one who had stock seems to have any available, I just want eggs and am wondering if anyone has...

Hi, sorry no pips yet but be patient, you never know what pops out days later, I had a few hatch day 24 this year and I was just glad I left them in there. I found one yesterday hatches can take a few days but there's no saying that you can't get all late hatchers!

G good luck with them. Runts have in the past in my flock gone either way, I believe I posted previously about a Keet that never grew at all that was the saddest :( but I should show you our littlest runt, I think the other 2 will catch up but this guy is like you said 1/4 of the size. I...
