    Hatchery quality - birds with somewhat of a resemblance to the standard. Breeder quality - birds not quite good enough to show but with enough good traits to be utilized in the breeding pen. Show quality - birds close enough to SOP to do well at shows.

    Hello, and welcome to BYC. I would guess that her wings are filled with blood/pin/developing feathers. Once the feathers mature, they will be lighter and it will be easier for her to pull her wings up.

    Get some pigeons. Their interactions run the gamut : monogamous, cheaters, same sex, divorce, polyamory. Many times I have seen a female pigeon knock her mate off of another female when she catches him cheating.

    Pair bonds among waterfowl can be extremely strong. I once witnessed a Canada gander 'guarding' the body of his road killed mate for 5 days.
