This is the three, she’s the yellow one of course. It’s certainly possible she may have been from another breed. I am just trying to figure out what she’ll turn into!
Thank you for responding! I was also thinking she may feather out with black patches. It’s just odd how yellow she is with so much black on the other two. I will post a few photos of the group to show the difference. I plan on emailing the seller just to see if maybe another egg popped in.
I have three ducklings hatched from eggs on ebay. They are magpie ducks which I have never raised before. One came out all yellow and the other two have the classic black patches all over. Does anybody know if this is common with some magpie ducklings? I love her either way, I’m just curious if...
Hi! I had five chicks hatch today from eggs I collected from my aunts coop. She has a several roosters who could be the fathers, they seem to be polish X polish as the eggs were white and the chicks seem to be polish chicks. However, a few of my aunts polish have an extra toe but most do not. I...
Thank you! It was a dark egg and it appeared sloshy and veinless during candling. The veins were very present when I cracked it open. It appeared healthy besides the sloshy candling which I’ve always noticed meant the egg is dead.
Grisly question here. To make things short, I have eggs incubating and did my day seven candling. Two eggs appeared obviously sloshing and empty of signs of life so I decided to take them out. I tend to crack the eggs and see if the eggs had signs of life, death or never became fertile. One was...
So I tried putting the ducks in a large wooden box I use as a brooder for the past two nights. I covered the top which is chicken wired with a light cloth to block out sunlight but keep airflow. I was shocked when at 8 am, still no quacking! They went about their normal routine of laying in the...
He will run up with his hackles up and bounce around her but she gets real tall and shoots him a look that stops him in his track. They are all very codependent
Thank you for your advice! I think the general notion is that they may calm down with age, but I’ve decided I’m going to put them in a blacked out box at night so they can at least give my neighbors some rest till 8!
My white layer 300 duck is going on her third birthday and let’s just say at a shes monster. She has worsened with age, and the noises she’s makes make me cry it gets so bad, face it, ducks are monsters, they make my rooster seem like a church mouse. Just minimize your reactions and attention so...
I have the same issue, I have one duck who screams to get what she wants at the drop of a dime bc she knows I have to. It is so hard in the morning because i have to give in or my neighbors will kill me. The only solution is to minimize a reaction when she starts up. It has gotten worse with age...
