I think its highly unlikely they would perch on the car as its literally the lowest thing in the garden apart from the ground. They perch on the shed and in the surrounding trees which are towering above the house and cars.
Does anyone have just make peacocks and if so, do they even get fighty...
He doesn't want to cover his car, or at least uncover it when he wants to use it. He likes it shiny and clean and he has to park it near the electric charger plug so wont move it further away. But honestly, I feel like he's making a fuss about something that might not even happen.
So, I have two year old peacocks, both Males. I love them. They are free range on our property here in East Sussex, UK.
We are surrounded by really tall oak, ash and lime trees and they roost up in these at night and fly up into them if they get spooked by the dogs etc. They come down during...
Hi, we didnt get any high stepping from the birds, just weakness. I took another from her more recently that was terribly weak but on closer inspection she had severe lice, i treated all the chickens, hers and mine and we have had no further problems.
I do believe gloria had coccidiosis...
Hi thank you, yes, i am an experienced runner duck keeper so am familiar with the basics but i have never experienced crusty patches under the eyes before. I think saline is a good idea but dont want to use antibiotics unnecessarily and i don't believe they are infected. They look like scabs.
Thank you. Im in the UK so antibiotics are hard to come by and expensive. There is no pus or obvious signs of infection (redness or heat) either.
I give them acv in their mash but not their water, do they benefit from dipping their heads in a solution of it too? Should i bathe the crusted...
Hi duck people ,
I could do with a little advice, I collected two male runners that i bought online and they arent too healthy. I have bathed them and fed them, treated them for worms and just given them a decent environment which i think will get them back on track but i am concerned...
Well, I have been using this theory for a year and i'm definitely getting more pullets. BUT, I do select the roundest eggs by hen, and I only take half where possible. If you cant identify which hen laid which egg then I dont think the results will be as good. Having said that, in the...

Could it be a golden cuckoo marans?
I have bred my golden cuckoo boy with my BCM and one out of the four hatched looked similar to this but slightly redder. The others were all dark speckled.

I have a collumbine hybrid hen, Callie, who lays only pointed eggs but I am setting hers anyway, I have sorted the least pointy from the very pointy. I am interested to see if she does only lay boys, I think it could easily be possible to have a hen who mostly lays a single sex egg. My BCM...
Wow well lets hope they are the exception that proves the rule lol ! Im still setting non pointy ones this year as I definitely had an improvement in my ratios last year. Keep those results rolling in.
Hi horseshoe13,
Im sorry but i have no experience with that. There is a list of possible causes here though: https://poultrykeeper.com/respiratory-problems/respiratory-disease-in-chickens/.
Fingers crossed for your new babies.
Gloria died last week, i didnt do a post mortem as the kids...
Here in the UK the british marans breed is a clean legged breed and is judged as such, I believe. The French Marans, obviously with the french town of Marans being where the breed originated, should have the feathered legs. At least that is what i have read.
