I believe the sussex breed is supposed to be cold hardy. Mine are large, but very docile. Hope this helps.

Today the Silver Laced Wyandotte juvie chicks I ordered from McMurray Hatchery arrived. They seem to be doing fine. I also wanted some buff brahmas but wasn't able to get them. Oh well, maybe next year.

Her chest is the same color as the feathers on the back of her neck-so I guess that means a brown leghorn.
