    Worried about chick

Boil an egg and feed it the yolk mashed up. That'll give it a little boost.

Any ideas if this baby serama is a pullet or cockerel?

I sure hope so. I got 6 and so far 3 of them are cockerels for sure. This baby has a slight, very slight touch of pink every now and then. Which is why I was unsure. Thanks for your thoughts.

Any ideas if this baby serama is a pullet or cockerel?

This little baby is about 4 1/2 weeks old or so maybe 5. Sometimes I think pullet other times I think cockerel.

Sorry to jump in on this thread. But any ideas on this baby? It's about 4 and a half weeks old.

    Cockerel or Pullet?

Light one is a roo I'd say. Huge legs and red comb and waddles too.

Give her some mashed fine scrambled eggs too.

    To cull or not?

I could never kill any of my chickens. I have them for pets with egg benefits. I don't care that they don't lay eggs anymore. They deserve to live out their lives.

*please help* chicks scared of water and won’t eat chick feed

When I have new chicks I grind up the chick starter to smaller size pieces and sprinkle it around on a white paper towel near their feed bowl. They go crazy picking and scratching at it.

    Choosing Breeds!

I have Brahmas, Beilefelders, Isbars, and a Barnvelder. All of them are people friendly. My particular favorites right now are my isbars. They are SO sweet!! One of them is my favorite chicken ever!! Get day old chicks and handle them a lot!

    Feeding mixed flock together

I don't have a rooster. But I feed 24% chick starter to everyone and provide lots of oyster shell calcium. I have it available at all times.

    Sand for brooder?

I've used sand and it worked well. But I kinda felt bad for the little babies laying in sand. They already don't have a momma. Now they are face down in sand, did't look to comfy to me. The pine shaving look a lot more comfortable to "nest" in.

fox jumped c. 5' in tree?

Maybe try confining them around the coop for a while so they don't have anywhere but the coop to roost in. Clip their wings too.
