I have 7 babies now!! and 5 more pips. Then I have a duck egg due Friday. so out of 17 eggs, 3 formed blood rings, cuts the number to 14 and hopefully 12 chicks? I'm very content with that since it is my stocks first hatch!

I will update when I can! There is one more our who has regular chicken fuzz and has feathered legs so I bet it to is a cross between silkie and one of my hens. I am thinking it's from one of my Red Stars. The color is perfect for it. I wonder - does wing sexing work?

So I have 4 eggs that are pipping righ tnow inside of a Brinsea Eco 20 and the humidity is at 48 and the temp at 99.5. Is there anything I can do to bring the humidity up or do I have to let it be??

On Candleing, I have 2 eggs that have a crooked red line and where the chick used to be it's just a black spot. The line goes all the waay around the egg - do I cull these?

I love that hen though. Has been giving me 1 egg a day since she started laying, although I don't like it when she picks on the other smaller hens acting like she's all that when the rooster not out
I candled mine just now!! They are on day 10! I got 14/18 that are for sure fertile and are still growing fast, 2 I think have blood rings but I will keep them until day 15 to make sure, and 2 that the eggs were to darn thick to tell if there was a chick developing in it. I'm still happy though...
