What color is my 8 week old Sebastopol gosling?

He was thought to be a buff when he was 4 weeks old but he kept changing colors. Now that I have added buffs to my gaggle, I don't think he's a buff anymore. Regardless, the colors he is displaying is gorgeous to me! This was him at 4 weeks and 5 weeks (with gaggle).

Sebastopol goslings with major breast curls!

I just recently got some 6 week olds and they appear to be developing curls on their breast. I have never raised any goslings before but I think these will be stunning! The curls are so deep and dense...I cannot wait until they grow out!

Adopting older goslings- will they still imprint

Haha. My 12 ducks are very friendly but independent, well one is uber needy (attached at the ankles literally, lol). As long as they feed from hands, come towards me when I visit them and take walks with me...I'm happy! Trust me, imprinted babies are great if you don't have a dozen pigs, dogs...

Adopting older goslings- will they still imprint

I think it depends on the individuals. I don't think geese in general like to be held but 3 of mine will let me hold them. I like the level of closeness...they are friendly but not needy. I have goats, dogs and pigs I raised from babies and boy are they overly attached to me at the hip. If I'm...

Adopting older goslings- will they still imprint

I got 2 at 4 weeks old and 2 weeks later 4 more at 5 weeks old. They come to me and are friendly. I can get them to walk outside with me. They are not overly attached (which I do not want but yes, they consider me mom and talk to me and will let me hold them). And they feed from my hand and they...

I ended up buying all of them. They are gorgeous. 2 buffs, 1 blue saddleback and one white.

Do you still think it's a buff? Looks grey lavender now at 6 weeks.

    Grey and buff sebastopol goslings?

Thanks for the pictures. But did you mention this was an Embdem? Do they have similar genetics?

    Grey and buff sebastopol goslings?

What do you think the color will be? It would be so awesome if I ended up with buffs, whites, dark grey, lavender and one that appears to have grey on the tail end. Thanks!
