Hen losing ability to walk on feet - walking on “elbows”

Hi - seeking advice. We have a hen who can no longer walk upright on feet and is now walking on “elbows”. Almost like legs are becoming paralyzed. What is causing this? Coop is clean. Healthy food. Free range. Water changed daily. Flock was vaccinated at birth. Any advice would be helpful.

26 day old chicks arriving TUESDAY!

Each plate was 119 dollars and I bought them on Amazon. If you give me about 2 weeks I’ll give you my honest review. In the past, I’ve used lamps - these had great reviews and allegedly much safer.

26 day old chicks arriving TUESDAY!

Hi chicken community! It’s been a while ❤️ We recently moved and are starting up our chicken farm, again. I just built a large coop (can handle 75 birds) and we get our first batch or 26 day olds this week. Question - basement or garage first few weeks? Basement warmer. I do have heat...

Easter Eggers stopped laying at 8 mos old

I have the same problem!! 17 hens, 10 of which are layers. For the past 2 weeks, my only (2) blue-egg layers (Ameracaunas) have stopped production! They are active, eat well, have space, no changes, healthy. Just NO EGGS. What gives?

    Can you eat roosters?

Great thread - I'm in the same boat. Have roosters that are 12 weeks but one is crowing (loudly) and I'm a bit concerned with neighbors. Also - is there a recommended YouTube tutorial for first time butchering? Thanks all

Don't know what breed or gender you have? Click here!

There are 4 in the pic. The 2 middle ones are Pullets? The black one on top and red on bottom...both roosters? Thank you for your help! Today I heard a definitive stab at a crowing! I did not see who did it (have 15 chicks) surprised they are vocal already. ❤️
