    Wet Feather?

I will. I tried letting them out of the yard to explore a bit but she just finds a place to settle down. It may be because hot how it is. I just worry so much! Lol

    Wet Feather?

I’m worried my ducks are sick or something. They just don’t look good... I don’t think they are molting, I don’t see any feathers anywhere. I have 2 and they are about 3 years old, a Cayuga and Blue Swedish. The Blue Swedish has always been a little lazy/fat, I think she had a niacin deficiency...

Hinny or “Mule” ducklings will be infertile and cannot reproduce/lay eggs/fertilize eggs/etc..

    AllFLOCK vs AllSTOCK

It does list on the back suitable for chickens- I think... I know there’s a picture of one! But ducks are different. The only thing I can really find “wrong” is the fiber is very high! Also, rice bran is a concern.

    AllFLOCK vs AllSTOCK

So, my wonderful duck food that I had delivered to my house stopped delivering because of “too many broken bags”. :barnie (I never had a broken bag- it was always packaged very well!!!) Anyways, we decided to start going to our local Feed & Seed... Sent my husband and told him to get All Flock...

My duck is a psycho, I’m ready to lose it!

Could something be visiting it every night/early morning? A raccoon, opossum, owl, etc.? From my understanding you don’t let it out when it starts quacking, right? If you are letting it out, you shouldn’t, because that would reinforce that quacking means it gets let out or that you come visit...

Duck food in container or scattered on ground?

I would keep it in a bowl of some sort, the food tends to get stinky if wet and left on the ground they won’t be able to clean it as well as in a bowl.

Help with picking size of pond

I clean my 40 Gallon stock tank every two days, if not daily. Takes maybe ten minutes though! I don’t have a drain so I use a sump pump, dump the last little bit, scrub, rinse, and refill. This is only for two ducks though!

Can I evict my ducklings yet?

Buy your dry duck food and you should be able to transition them in about a week- Start off with 100% damp crumble on the first day Day two: 3/4 damp crumble, 1/4 dry duck food Day three: 1/2 and 1/2 Day four: 1/4 damp crumble, 3/4 dry duck food Day five: 100% dry duck food. You can...

    Ducks afraid of pond

My two ducks were scared of our “pond” (40 Gallon stock tank) at first too, they didn’t get in it till I got in (up to my knees) and they followed me! They watched me splash around at first and then they jumped in!!

Can I evict my ducklings yet?

If I could afford it I would do the same thing and then put down river rocks! River rocks are smooth on their feet, and if you keep the pond in there it won’t get muddy, but they could get hot if not shaded. You could probably do just the sand and make sure they get to bath and forage everyday.

Can I evict my ducklings yet?

From my understanding, sand is fairly acidic and it will be hard for plants to grow and if you need to ever use that plot of land for something else you will need to nourish your soil. As @Soon2BChixMom mentioned, the sand will also become hard of it rains; you may want to consider a solid roof-...

    my ducks are acting scared

Just spend lots of time sitting near them, taking calmly, and feeding out of your hands. They’ll warm up to you! Don’t worry :)

    Duck Diaper Templates

I’m sure if you do the socks and change them often it wouldn’t clog their butts up anymore than any other diaper design. Socks are what I’ve seen most others use if they make one themselves.

    My duckling sleeps weird??

Ducklings don’t have very strong necks so when they sleep they just “plop”. We would (reluctantly) joke about it and say when the ducklings were sleeping “they’re dead again” because of the ridiculous ways they would fall asleep!!

    Duck help

Pictures would help determine the sex, but the best way is by voice. How old is your duck? It may be too soon to tel if it’s still “peeping” but if it “quacks” it is female, if it is raspy it is a male. Also, males get a curl at the end of their tails.
