I hatched some chicks on January 28, 2020. Well, when everything gets quiet for the night. The boy chick will scream very loudly. Then, it upsets the girl chick and she starts screaming.
Whe they chirp loudy. Usually, I will walk up to the box and say “Shhh”. Then, I’ll turn around and go back...
I had asked a similar question about some chicks. I would like to know the gender with these chicks. I know they are too young to be a definite yes or no question. but I would like to speculate. These chicks are all full blooded siblings. The mother is barred and the father isn’t.
This is their...
I have a accidental chick. It’s a Splash Easter Egger X Splash Wyandotte Bantam. It’s father is idk. I’m thinking it was a Silver Laced Cochin Bantam. So, what would be the outcome of a Splash and a Silver Laced?
I have 3 suspects!
1.) Silver Laced Cochin Bantam
2.) A mix with a Splash Wyandotte...
Update: The baby chick hatched and has me shocked. I don’t know who the father is. :barnie Sadly, the other chick didn’t make it. So, I’ll probably put my sweet Lydia with the chick. She is 3 months old now. She is very sweet and gentle. If that doesn’t work. Then, I’ll have to go buy some...
No chicks so far. I’m hoping they are getting ready though.:fl There are only 2 eggs in the incubator. I only did 2 because it’s winter and it’s easier to care in the winter.
I have some eggs due either today or tomorrow. I have two eggs in the incubator. One egg is still and normal. The other is rocking to some music . :gig Is it normal for the eggs to roll back and forth?
I have a hen that is a Blue Cochin Mix.
Father:
25% Splash Wyandotte Bantam
25% Black OEGB Bantam
Mother:
50% Buff Cochin Bantam
I want to breed her with a Calico Cochin Bantam. I would think the results to be weird. Y’all give me some of your thoughts.
All your chickens are the same color. I’m not complaining at all. Those are cute birds but it’s funny because even if I add a bright yellow chicken in my flock. The children always come out blue. I can’t get the blue gene out.
In my opinion, the Cochin probably didn’t lay that dark of a brown egg. My Cochin lays tan and off-white eggs, but every chicken is different. I would suspect the lavender Orpington.
The first photo is Coopers (The Rooster I was talking about in the first post) mate named “Elizabeth” they had 4 children. The ones in the first picture are “Andrew” (the front black one) and Henry ( Back barred one). Sadly, they both died of a unknown cause a week later from this photo.
