hello all,
One of my ducks has had a soft/squishy lump on her bill for the past month! I have no idea where it came from or how, and was hoping you fine folks might be able to shed some light onto the matter.
I have attached a few images of said bump. Luckily it doesn’t seem to bother her much...
Does anyone have any experience with electric fencing and chargers that isn't poultry netting per-chance? Like electric fencing wire?
(have I mentioned you all are awesome? I really appreciate all the wonderful advice)
Random question- why should I not use a charger more powerful than 2 joules? My husband is looking into chargers and requested that I ask (and I know nothing about ANY of this). Thank you so very much!
They're super friendly and playful if raised right, and some are even cuddly!
Soft Soft SOFT!
Messy, yet so much fun to watch (when they play, eat, swim, breathe.... do anything really)
Personally I think their eggs taste better and are better for baking
And lastly-Look at those faces! How can...
Actually the little yellow girl was a buff. Sadly both were claimed in a raccoon attack at roughly 4 months :hit But that raccoon was properly dealt with- swiftly. Our two newest ducklings are a Rouen (my absolute favorite duck) named nubbins, and a duclair named Ebby. My Rouen runs around like...
Yay! I’m so glad to hear that! Anytime I hear someone may have a sick duckling I panic.... I just can’t help myself :hit
Speaking of messy ducks-
This is how my first Rouen duckling would sleep.... that’s her food dish... she was perpetually messy...:lau
It does look VERY similar to my ducks face/head when I thought she was balding, but I am certainly no duck expert. I just chalked it up to her not really seeming to know quite how to be a duck haha. She would get goop all over herself, would dip said goop into the water but never could figure...
To echo off of what junebuggena said- one of my ducklings looked like she was losing feathers behind her eyes around a week or so
Old. Turns out she was just messy and all her little feathers clumped together- but I was convinced she was going bald there for a minute.
No way, small world! Gotta love is desert dwellers. :frow
I hope your little ducklings start feeling better soon (wish I had some sort of advice to offer). I know how scary these things can
Be. :fl
I know this doesn’t help- as I have no idea what the issue could be- but I’m praying for your ducklings and watching this thread like a hawk for updates.
Go team Harriett! :fl
