Best hatch I've ever had actually. The moma birds do better than anything I've had in the incubator, the chicks seem more people friendly and curious too. I've read here that that's not supposed to be the case but I just have better luck with them.
My last momma was killed by dogs, had new runner up last month after 2 weeks she started getting nice and flat, no others got to that point, I just grabbed 10 eggs some light and darker browns, a blue, a pink a green, a white one or two just what ever was laid that day. She kicked a light...
First time I've seen it first time I've had to fix it. Hopefully these pictures are good enough you guys can tell me if the wife and i got it all out. Soaked her for close to 45 min warm water and Epsom salts also a few drops of iodine to help kill anything. Just found her limping yesterday...
Vet gave me this after seeing a bird go to the bathroom in front of me in a direct ray of afternoon sun and watching that pile move. Did get a float done, took me 2 wks to make sure I got a sample from that bird, but also took get in to get checked out at his request.
Had a dog attack, lost 8 so far 8 more on antibiotics and healing. What kind specifically, or does it matter, of yogurt would I want to feed them to help with thier stomachs while on and after antibiotics?
The vet still recommended we dust the birds with peramithin, which we did. We had a couple times this summer with little effect, which when I started putting pieces together I asked this
Round, saw her go to bathroom next us with the sun shining on the stool and it was a moving. Took her in, at the vet's request, and a sample. He actually is a falconer, aside from the definitive round worms, and signs of slight lice very healthy birds. Made me happy, still try and keep a...
Im asking cause I butchered a rooster last week and it's the first one this year, with dusting and spraying, that didn't have lice on it. They were never bad but they had it one or two I'd find every bird I butchered. This one was after I did the 2 doses and 10 day wait in between... I also...
So I was waiting on a squash to cook on the grill and looked over and re-read the headline of this print off the vet gave me for deworming the hoard.... does this stuff kill lice and what not too?
I saw a stool moving a few weeks back.... did a float, and the vet gave her a once over, round worms, doing the ivermectin first dose. Second dose this Saturday.... so weird gathering eggs and throwing them away....
Actually they can, I had one do it this spring, it's a deficiency in diet, she had just come off a broody spell. I think she went from green to pink, I'd have to go look back at my records
I have around 50 birds 5 of which are roosters, trying to find a home for 2 story for another time. 2 of my four orpingtons, if given half a chance they will try and lay somewhere out in the yard. Ive had to "rehome" them twice this summer, they are only 6 months old, and have just started...
