Ivermectin and scaly leg mites. Help!

Ok. Picked up some nustock and applied it with a vasoline coating to lock it in. I just did the one bird as the others really don’t have any issues like this bird is.

Ivermectin and scaly leg mites. Help!

I’ll check Nustock. I use the pine chips from tractor supply. (White bags). My first chickens were older and from a buddy. I didn’t know any better and they all already had them. That was 2018 and all my birds basically have had it since. 😕 normally it doesn’t seem to be an issue but this bird...

Ivermectin and scaly leg mites. Help!

Yeah. I’m certain it’s in the coop and run. It’s super frustrating they don’t have anything approved and don’t put any time into backyard poultry. I saw some spray from the UK? Mite ex or something like that. Is diatomaceous earth best spread throughout the run or permethrin? I’ll spray the...

Ivermectin and scaly leg mites. Help!

The legs are super bad SLM. My whole flock has them and has for years. I’ve done the vasoline, Vicks, veg oils. They work just ok and only for a very little bit. I don’t have the time after doing that to do my whole flock daily or every other day for weeks. The controversy is the non fda...

Eye issue, infection and lethargy. Help!

One of our favorites started showing signs of eye problems and lethargy last week. We let it go as it didn’t seem terrible and to see if it would resolve. Well, I work a couple days at a time and things turned for the worse. I can now smell infection. The eye is swollen shut with what looks like...

    Nest box dividers 😁

13 girls using these 3. It was the same on the last coop. I’ve read that it’s 3-5 birds per nest and from my experience it has held true. I’m sure if you offer more they would use them, but my girls seem to do well with 3 nests 😁

    Nest box dividers 😁

When I built my coop, I left dividers out of the nest box to see what they would do. Welllll after a few weeks they made a 3 nest box without dividers 😁 so they aren’t necessary!

    Carolina Coops American knockoff :-)

Not sure why the two posted separate. The nest box pic goes with this tag lol 13 birds, three spots and they only use one or two lol

    Carolina Coops American knockoff :-)

That’s funny. Ours go in one and two at a time. Even with three boxes there is always one to two free. It will be interesting to see what they do without the dividers!
