what type of ducks should I get?

We got drakes because we heard they were quietier. Two Cayugas and two Rouen and we didn’t want to mess with the eggs from the hens but after about a year the drakes started a pecking order resulting in the less submissive one getting picked on. Getting all hens was probably the way to go. I...

My 1 year old male Cayuga does it every time I bring out snacks. He also gives me kisses. With him it’s a happy good thing for sure.

need help with breed and sex of my duck

I think so too! My husband keeps saying HER tail is curled but I don’t think so. The problem would be if she wasn’t a girl I would have 3 boys to one girl. I have a male Rouen and Cayuga already.

need help with breed and sex of my duck

I recently inherited 2 ducks hoping they were both female. I know the white crested one is but I can’t figure out the buff colored one. He/she is very small and they are siblings around 3 months of age.

    Cayuga ducks

They survived the winter and even loved the snow. On the coldest nights I would see them outside their house even when they could go in with their heat lamp. It was unusually cold this year for the midwest so I guess they will be fine. Thanks for the advice!

    My Drakes Won't Play Nice

I too am having issues with my male ducks fighting. I have four males and they were all bought at the same time six months ago. I thought if they grew up together they would more likely get along. I also didn’t want the hassle of dealing with eggs but now wish I would have gotten at least one...

    Cayuga ducks

I am an owner of four pet ducks. Two are Cayuga. The other two are Rouen. I am looking for a simple idea of how to bring the ducks inside sometimes that is easy cleanup. Thinking pet gates?? It’s 16 degrees outside today and I know they aren’t freezing to death but I feel bad for them. I give...
