Good to hear you’ve got a good roo! We’ve had two aggressive ones a (buff Orpington which was suprising) and a silver sea bright. The sea bright would fly on my back and peck my head. My husband gave him a dose of 410.
I also hatched in eggs cartons ( paper ones) it was on shipped eggs that had saddle shaped air cells and.... I had a bout half hatch that way! I did just barely tilt eggs a bit each day. Good luck!!
I always thought it would be fun to do an egg swap. No sales just even trades and just for fun!
What do you have that you'd like to trade for?
This is what I have: Seramas purebreed one dozen
What I like: Chocolate Orpingtons, cochins, d'uccles, hertitage barred rocks, and OEGB to name a few...
The hen hatched them under an outdoor storage shed directly on the ground. I'm not sure that the rate would have been as good it it were in a nest box. But whatever- we were super surprised!
I watched a youtuber - White House On the Hill (I think thats right)and he sprayed his duck with a water bottle periodically. He said because mom duck does the same with water from feathers??? We had a 100% hatch once on shipped mallard eggs from ebay that hen incubated for us.
My question about shipping adult chickens is: Do I need to be NIPI (is that correct) certified to ship through the postal service? I see online for USPS that birds must be healthy but does not specify that there must be proof of health. Thanks in advance!
It looks like comb crud. Those kind of combs with the nooks and crannies loves to collect and build of chunky debris. Its gross... but I bet if you the rounded tip end of a bobby pin it will scoop right out. Try it and see! Take that Dr. Pimple Popper!
That is so cute! Good job! I like that the nest box is on the same side as the door. Did you do this with building plans (blueprint)? I love it! Cute chickens too!
