HI ! Welcome to Bill and Judy's Page
We have finally finished our Coop and run.
I built our coop as you would build any frame building. We installed 4" by 4" post in the ground and framed 2" by 8" floor joist.
With the floor joist finished, we put down 3/4" plywood for the floor and...
Fred's Hens :
Do like Motel 6 and leave a light on for them. They'll sometimes gravitate toward the light from the outside darkness.
That's true, but the coop is about 4 feet off the ground and it takes a little while for them to get used to the ramp.
Before you get ready to shoot me.---- I just threw my 7 week old pullets out of the coop for the first time.
I think it's about time they were out in the run.
Of course, the fun will be tonight when I have to catch them to put them back inside. ( I remember what happened with the last bunch)

I have two week old golden comet pullets. They sent 26. 24 of them have tail feathers about an inch long. The other two have no tail feathers at all.

Nothing seems to...

SteveH,
These look and act like CX, but since this is the first time getting anything from them, I will have to wait and see if they grow like the good CX suppose to. I'm feeding them 24% game bird chick starter and will keep them on it until processing.
I bought 1000 pounds and when...

Online they quote 100 chicks, but when you call them they will tell you there is a five dollar charge on anything less than 100.
Ordering 50 the cost break down is $35.00 for the chicks $ 5.00 for less than 100 order, and $15.05 was shipping.
Day 2 the chicks look healthy and so far...
