I used to breed WH. None of those look pure WH to me. I had some SQ ones from Holderread and hatchery ones too. Maybe yours are WH crosses? They are beautiful birds regardless and look alot more like Abacot Rangers to me. I have never owned those but I've seen pictures online.
I'm not an expert on illnesses or anything but I've had ducks most of my life and that sounds normal to me. My ducks have made that same moaning sound before... they are always relaxed and happy when making that sound. It could be warm weather related too. I wouldn't worry :)
I would keep the drake with pencilling for breeding. You could maybe keep the crested in a separate flock for fun/experiment since that crest is really cool looking.
Rust and pencilling traits are good to have and help break up the markings in the offspring. In my circle of Ancona people they...
He is stunning and his bill coloring is very nice 😍 That color is called harlequin. It is recessive which means your young drake had to of inherited the gene from both parents in order to express. I have one Ancona drake that has a harlequin patch on his shoulder. I don't know where the gene...
Hi 👋
Yes, I've been super busy with my kids and my animals. I have a momma duck with 7 new babies hatched April 25-26. She loves her babies but it's her first time and she doesn't quite know what to do with them so I installed a heat lamp for them today so they won't get cold. They are doing...
I was told he is dusky but I don't know for sure, I am not an expert. He was in between plumage phases at the time of that pic. I have a pic of him during Nuptial plumage 👇 I think his sons will look just like him when they are fully mature.
These duskies are the drakes. One has a straight bill (orange skin underneath and on feet) and the other one has a moderately curved bill (pink skin underneath and on feet). These pics were taken a month+ ago. They are starting to show their Nuptial plumage now. Last pic is their dad, he is also...
Orange bill is the mother. She came from HWF. Not sure of exact age, around 1.5-2 years. Pink bill is her daughter. 2.5 months old in the picture. She's 3.5 months now.
I would imagine it is possible that any/all could carry it. The father of the 3 younger ones has a small amount of white on his neck/throat. I'll get pics.
I have 2 white females and 2 dusky males available. Three of them have moderate curved bills and one male has a straight bill. One of them came from Holderread Waterfowl Farm, the rest are her offspring.
I do not have a set price in mind, I'm open. Just want to make sure they will be well cared...
I am downsizing my flock. I have decided to sell 2 white females and 2 dusky males. 1 of the females came directly from Holderread Waterfowl Farm, the rest are her offspring that hatched the end of May this year. They have straight to moderate curved bills.
I'm located in Logsden, Oregon.
Pick...
Wow, you have a silver drake! Some would say he is over marked but fooey with them. Silver is extremely rare and I have only seen them a couple of times in my life. The other one is a lavender which is dilute chocolate. Beautiful birds! ❤️
I've been breeding Anconas for about 10 years now and my best guess is you have a light blue duckling and a dark blue duckling. If the father was a blue Ancona/Swedish mix then the odds are much lower for him carrying chocolate which is necessary in order to father lavender ducklings. Blue...
