Thank you. I have a friend who sells chickens at First Monday in Canton, TX. I mentioned once I’d like a turkey and he called me Thursday to say he had one for me. I had no idea what a bourbon red turkey looked like but he really is pretty. My chickens just stare at him like “Wow. What are you?”

If his face is blue, it means he’s happy. It turns pale when he’s stressed or angry.

I have 4 cats that have been dumped near our farm in the last few months. None of them ever bother my free range chickens. One did look at the chickens once probably wondering what they were 😜

I guess if you can’t dig in it easily then neither can the predators 😀

They will briefly come out for food/water and today they came out for awhile when I was painting the coop. They seem better today.

So far my new BR’s won’t come out from under the coop. Maybe they’re still stressed from being sold. I can’t even get a picture of them yet. I’ll keep you posted.

That’s what I thought but was talking to a chicken enthusiast today and he told me the colors can vary. Maybe he meant one EE might lay blue eggs and another pink eggs but that’s not what he said. Thanks for the response.

Do EE hens always lay the same color egg each time or do they sometimes lay blue then green , etc?

The chicken with the eye problem does act like he’s coughing or maybe sneezing but I haven’t captured him yet so I’m not sure about drainage. It looks like maybe it’s just swollen shut but that seems weird. I can’t see the eye at all. It does eat/drink. I gave the wry neck one some tuna and...

I don't see any bubbles, foam, pus or crusty drainage. I got all the chickens at the same time from the same place. All heads/necks were normal 2 weeks ago when I got them. Hopefully these new pics are better, if not I'll get my hubby to help me next time. I do appreciate your help.

Our neighbor recently got a new coop & let us borrow her chicken tractor. We put it inside a dog run & covered the top of the run so no predators can swoop in. I’m not sure how to upload pics yet. I’ll work on it. I’m on an iPhone.
