Been super busy lately. Sadly, I had to re-home my girls because of a move. But found a wonderful new home for them and couldn't be happier about that. :)
Hi,
This is hard for me to write and post. Sometime next year we will be moving to Europe. I am unable to take my two sweet beautiful girls with me. I am starting the search early for a good home for them.
They are four years old and great layers. One is a Cayuga and the other a Grey Indian...

She is on SMZ pills. The first Pus removal was 4 weeks ago, and the second happened this Wednesday. It is very swollen, more so than before the removal (looks worse). I change the bandage every day and soak everyday.
I also put Neosporin on the incision site.
Hi,
My indian runner has been dealing with what looks like a joint infection. I have taken her to the vet, where she has been given antibiotics and they cut open and removed any infection around the area.
There was never any sign or puncture or bumblefoot, just swollen ankle.
She has been on...
From past experiences and constant vet visits, I have learned that there are various type of infections that can cause bumble foot and that how it develops can be different each time.
Sometimes you'll get the kernel, sometimes it's puss...and other times the marbling you described. I have...

If the infection is never killed/stopped by the medicine, multiple removals may have to be done, because basically it came back. So another removal surgery may be needed.
I understand the frustration and situation completely.
With my one duck, it was the same situation. Battled the infection for 2 months and fully healed after 3. Ended up that the medicine wasn't working because it was a strain that only specific antibiotics could fight. Best is to go to a vet...
I dealt with a particularly stubborn case of bumblefoot that took 2.5 - 3 months of off and on healing. At first it got better, then the infection would surge again. At first I started with treating myself, then took to the vet and just do basic removal, soak and SMZ antibiotics. It got a little...
2 of my ducks tend to get bumblefoot every summer. It's very hot and humid during the summers and I actively have to spray their mats with vinegar and clean twice a day to keep bacteria off.
As for the bumble foot situation, I learned through many visits to avian specialists and dealing with my...
