    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I have a guy like that but he pays me a little bit for my trouble and feed. He takes them to auction and probably gets a nice profit.

    The Wally-Gee Bee Journey 🐝

The bees are pros at fixing our mistakes. I’m so glad you finally get to enjoy the fruits of your labor! As far as knives go, I would look for a longer bread knife. I know the YT guys are not the end all be all, but I have seen one of them use a hot knife once. He then reverted back to the bread...

    The Wally-Gee Bee Journey 🐝

I pulled 2 mediums yesterday with 9 frame spacing. Ended up with about 6 gallons of honey. I bottled until I ran out of bottles. If all goes well I’ll pull the 2 deep supers next weekend. The bees were not happy. They never are.

If you sit in the coop with them it happens a lot faster.

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Those are some of my Rhode Islands that I had already hatched. Too many different age birds with not enough places to put them. That new brooder is in the middle chicken apartment. The chicken apartments is where the snake has killed 2 so far when I move the younger ones out there. Mr Snake...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

After the Aussie/Kiwi conflict I skipped ahead a lot. What’s up? New birds? I built this… It was soooo hot I didn’t even care it it had legs at this point. Cinder blocks work just fine!

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

I did the same song and dance with 3 hygrometers for a while. Like you said, they would hardly ever match and became waaaaaay more of a chore than I was willing to deal with.

    The Wally-Gee Bee Journey 🐝

We have a full basement with a concrete floor. I lay out large sections of cardboard to catch all the drips. I borrowed an extractor last year but, like you, I bought a bunch of used equipment and now we have our own extractor.

    The Wally-Gee Bee Journey 🐝

I did a quick check this past Saturday. The new deeps I added on both hives have 4 good, fat drawn frames and they are working on the other 5 fast and furious. If they can continue this pace the deep supers will be full or close to it by end of June. I know it sounds like I’m counting my...

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Well, 17 was it for my batch of Eggers. Total for the season I think is close to 90. Now I have to build another outside brooder to keep the different ages separate. Yay…

    The Moonshiner's Leghorns

We have 3 chicks hatched so far from the EE/OE eggs. I’m not there so I can’t really speak on any details. Hatch day is tomorrow so they are getting a head start as usual. Will I be able to tell them apart or is it basically an egg color thing?

    The Honey Factory

I’m doing 9 frames this year. I think there was talk of it on here last year? But definitely a lot of the You Tubers use this method for honey supers. This reason plus I bought a ton of used equipment that already had 9 frame metal spacers nailed into several of the boxes. I think this year is...
