    Golden Cuckoo Maran chicks

2 weeks old now, and I'm fairly certain that all the ones that were in question are males. I'm seeing the beginning of comb growth on most and their splotchy color feels like a giveaway. That would put me at 3 females and 5 male for the Golden Cuckoo Marans. Out of the 3 females one really runty...

    Golden Cuckoo Maran chicks

Yep, I'll update as I can as they grow. I originally wanted to sell some chicks because I wasn't planning on keeping all, but my husband wants to keep them all until we can see their personalities more. We want to keep a Rooster or two to along with any girls to integrate with our older girls...

    Golden Cuckoo Maran chicks

Yes they do, and the only one that has a lighter base is number 2. Its faint and the camera doesn't pick it up, but it is noticeable in person. The white patches don't connect to the neck on anyone else even number 7 has the faintest ring of their base color before the neck patch.

    Golden Cuckoo Maran chicks

I'm in need of some help sexing my Golden Cuckoo Maran chicks. They are two days old now. Hatched 1/19 one straggler 1/20 not pictured she is pretty obvious and still in the incubator at the moment (I didn't want the others stomping all over her she was pretty weak coming out of her egg) I'm...

    Strange wing?

I have a chick with this too. The shaft of her wing feathers are missing all the barbs and then they come back further down the shaft. She had a very rough trip getting to me, she was the only one of 15 chick that survived shipping. I wonder if that affected the growth? So far she is growing...

    Rosecomb featherlegged bantam?

The 3 rows of a rosecomb would be the more correct wordage, but that's not the way my mind works. Like on my older D'anver I can see the 3 rows of the comb on all the seabright chicks so I know it's not a pea comb of a brahma.

    Rosecomb featherlegged bantam?

There are brahma bantams, I actually have a bantam dark Brahma Cockerel right now. I might have gone with Brahma but this one has very clear silver laced pattern coming in on the wings and the 3 row rose comb. My brahma had no visible comb until his pea comb started growing in.

    Rosecomb featherlegged bantam?

I got a a set of silver and gold seabright from the bantam bin of my local TSC, along with another set of D'anvers. However when I get home and put them in their brooder I notice one of the silvers has feathered legs. Okay, no problem I guess I got a cochin instead (they had a couple running...

    Bantam Chick

This chick is all stages of awkward right now. Shoulder feathers coming in have white edging with dark grey, same on the sides under the wings. Belly feathers have light grey edges with darker grey. Chest feathers are just starting and are dark looking. Head and neck feathers are a combination...

    Bantam Chick

This chick is now just over 4 weeks old and making me second guess everything. With how slow the feathers are comin in and how short the tail feathers are I really think this is a cockerel.

    Possible Cockerels?

Okay updated pictures from today. That makes them 5 to 4 weeks old. Luna Best view of her wattle development. Still has very minimal comb development so I'm inclined to go with Mamatomany123 and say it's the Australorp in her. Brunhild- More noticeable comb development this week. Skin also...

    Possible Cockerels?

I'm kinda worried that these "pullets" are cockerels. They are from TSC and believe they got them from Privett Hatchery. All these pictures are from yesterday. First up is Luna a production blue (Rhode island red x blue Australorp) 4 weeks old Sunday. I just noticed yesterday that she has some...

    Bantam Chick

Update! Mystery chick is now 3 weeks old and is finally getting mor feathers in. It is finally getting visible body feathers, almost a week behind the others from its group. All the feathers are coming in the same so it is looking more like Dark Brahma Bantam Pullet to me

    Hi all!

Thanks! I have a smaller coop for night and laying eggs with a large run for during the day. Its should be just around the right size for all of them if by some miracle they are all pullets. We are setting up a second pen for the ducks that should be done in a week.

    Hi all!

Hi all! I got my first chicks after years of waiting. I have 8 chicks and 2 ducklings that I picked up from Tractor Supply. I originally had chicks ordered, but an impromptu family vacation forced me to postpone my order. Because one of the breeds I had ordered was really popular it pushed my...

    Bantam Chick

It is bigger then other two but no where as big as the standard chicks I got with them I would love it if it was a dark Brahma pullet. What made me hesitant on dark Brahma is it is such a light chick and the feathers coming in are quite a bit lighter then I was seeing for dark Brahmas.

    Bantam Chick

I have one bantam chick that I am having problems identifying for certain. I got it from Tractor Supply and I believe they get their chick from Privett hatchery. It has feathered feet, no comb development so far and is a smokey brownish gray color with faint striping along the back and head and...
