I have a Barny in my flock as well. It is very shy, doesn't seem to even like to be around people. Chewy is the lowest in the pecking order, and sometimes even gets pecked on. She is quite a gorgeous bird though

I have 7 girls 21 weeks old, still haven't started laying. A friend of mine has 7 girls and found she has 2 roosters 23 weeks old. She needs to get rid of one of the roosters and wants to give one to me. Is it possible/worth it to introduce a rooster into a flock of hens?

    New waterer

We too switched out the older smaller waterer for a heated waterer with nipples. I do however have a question about that. We were blessed to have a precious crossbeak in our chicks this year. Any thoughts on if this girl will be able to drink from the nipple waterer?
