I brought the last 6 in after finding a still born (one of the girls had plucked the whole shell off but the membrane was completely in tact) and incubated them a couple days longer. Ended up with one more weebee out of them. That baby is now a spoiled hand-raised stinker too. :)
Give them somewhere to sleep in safety and you're good to go. We let ours sleep in the trees and so far, they're doing quite well. I do force them to relocate every so many weeks to keep the poop buildup down. I think it helps them with the being a predictable sitting duck issue.
So excited I just have to share real quick! Our girls have gone broody. 4 of them at the same time to be exact, and we just had our first ever broody babies at our place make their appearance!!!!!!!
2 of 4 survived and dried out, and on Mother's Day morning I walked out to a 5th baby still wet...
Since the hurricanes all kind of strange things have happened, but this one here is downright comical. These two roosters have decided that they really dig our place and just sauntered on into the yard and made themselves at home. One roosts by the house in the big oak tree and the other goes to...
She's able to eat the same food as the others, but containing it in something deep makes it easier on her. If she's not in the feed can she has her own big cup that she eats from. The other girls don't try to take it from her so it works beautifully.
With water the deeper the better. Ours didn't...
It is quite common for cross beak to appear as they begin to grow. This one will likely have a pretty significant scissor once finished growing, but there's a lot of simple things you can do to keep them just as healthy and happy as your other babies. We've had a scissor beak Easter Egger for a...
I had to do some resizing.... lol
The first one is our little Rona
And Odin because this baby decided that for the first two days of life it was only necessary to have one eye open....
And the prettiest little doll.... Ilya
The other three are wiggle worms and will only give me blur-blob...
The persistent cough is lingering, but I'm 1000% better today than I was this time last week. These absolutely perfect and gorgeous days we've had the last 3 days down here have done so much good for the soul too.
They let me go home the afternoon of the 3rd with a bag full of super antibiotics and cough syrup with some major heee- yah in it... XD
Final count on the hatch is 6 beautiful little angels. 4 silkies and 2 barnyard mixes..... one of which has been lovingly named Rona... lololololololol
I can't lie.... with as high as they have the one in our TSC stacked I can't wait to watch the little stockers trying to catch them out of the top bin for customers...... it promises to be veryyyyy entertaining XD

Y'all probably thought this thread had just went off to die... but you would be wrong... And boy do I have a HELL of an update. My life is never dull I swear.
The anticipated freeze came in hard and fast. We managed to save every single one of our babies and protect...
