    Leg issue? + possible roo

Hi! A couple weeks ago I got 4 new baby chicks (second time raising). One of the chicks had extreme pasty butt and the other seemed to have splayed legs so they gave them to me for free. Pasty butt is totally fine, but the splayed leg chick is for sure older than the rest and although she can...

    Drake Issue!!

I have separated my Peking and khaki Campbell (khaki had an eye injury) and my khaki is the one to blame for the fighting. Pekin is completely happy and sweet with the chickens. No interest in going after them! Hopefully eventually my khaki will follow suit or my pekin will keep him in line.

    Drake Issue!!

Will this eventually stop after a certain point (I.e. year 3 for example) or are drakes like this their whole lives?

    Reintroduction/Pecking Order

Good news! Our spacing is a 20x10 with a 10x10 extra space attached to it - two coop places to choose from. I put my recovered hen (Betty) in first and opened the coop this morning, they all walked around each other with some swipes from Betty at Rue and Bea, but everyone quickly moved on. Rue...

    Reintroduction/Pecking Order

My hen sprained her leg two weeks ago and recovered great. I’ve made a fenced area outside our run where the girls (3 total) can all see each other to prepare for reintroductions. Last week I let her “friend” out with her, who immediately attacked her. I also feel she wasn’t ready. After a...

    Injured Chicken Convulsing(??)

@coach723 Thank you SO much! Thankfully she was not shaken, she may not have been squeezed by the way she was grabbed (my dog's lower jaw mostly grabbed the feathers above her tail and her tooth caught her back. It seemed like my dog was trying to 'catch' her knowing she wasn't where she was...

@Isaac 0 She’s about 3 pounds. I did stop dosing this morning to see if she would stop today. So she hasn’t had one since last night.

    Injured Chicken Convulsing(??)

@Isaac 0 Her poop was pretty solid green, I wouldn’t describe it was watery. Her poops today are smaller and white with some green/brown but they’ve mostly gotten stuck under her bum. I’ll see if I can get a good picture. I had her on 80mg/dose Monday pm, Tuesday Am and Pm, but cut it down...

    Injured Chicken Convulsing(??)

@Isaac 0 i had her on 80m Monday night and tuesday but dropped it to 40 after the first episode. Vent is clean and clear, some poop on the bottom of her feathers from sitting that I’ve been cleaning off her. Her poop is green with some white and smelly. I forget the term I saw, but it said that...

    Injured Chicken Convulsing(??)

Could it be that she is warm and the water and eggs are colder? Is it giving her a chill?

    Injured Chicken Convulsing(??)

Hi!! I'm a new poster, but I've had my ducks and chickens over a year. On Monday one of my girls got spooked and flew right out of their run while the dogs were out. Both of them chased her and one caught her - her wounds seem to be minor. I washed them out with a saline solution immediately...
