Earl is seven weeks old. He’s a pilgrim gander, but his eyes are not blue. Do they turn blue eventually ? Like gradually? I don’t remember if Charlie (my original gander who is Earl’s dad) had the blue eyes when he was that young but I kind of think he did.
Can anyone point me to any of the coop build articles that might work for me? Like to be able to walk in and out (I’m 5’7) but I understand that will drive up the price so I’m thinking maybe a short building with a hinged roof that I can open from the top to reach in for cleaning
My goslings are six weeks old today they live in a coop outside with their parents and have had water and food overnight in there every night and oh boy what a mess every morning so many poops- I am hoping they don’t need the overnight feed and water anymore?

I just took the auto Turner tray out because it was running rough. I’m going to hand turn the eggs. Is it three times a day and do you just turn them over to the opposite side or should you do like a full rotation like the auto turn does I think mine does a turn and a half or something . they’re...
I’m trying the method where I let the eggs cool down for 10 minutes once a day and then when I come back, I spray a fine mist above them , before closing the lid back on. is the water I use when I spray the fine mist before closing the lid back on the incubator is is that water have to be warm...
I have a pair of pilgrims with three day old goslings and I noticed the gander keeps accidentally stepping on his babies to the point where he almost killed one stepping on its neck so I separated him from his family during the day, but put him in the coop with them at night. I’m still concerned...
My pair of pilgrims hatched four goslings yesterday and when I first saw them inside the coop, it was a little dark and I thought I had three girls and one boy but today they came outside and now I think I might have three boys and one girl or two of each. Anyone more familiar with Pilgrim...
4 duck eggs in incubator now day 27.5
2 are bigger eggs (Anconas) they both have nice big air spaces and I see some external pipping has begun yay
2 are smaller and their air spaces are pretty small so I’m considering safety holes . I see they have internally pipped .
Don’t want to wait too...
My daughter was picking some grass from the front yard to bring to the geese in the backyard. I told her don’t pick any onion grass, geese hate it,
That night she made this silly cartoon and told me I could share it with my goose friends lol
3yo chocolate Orpington hen didn’t want to eat and was laying down unlike her usual self she did not run over for a treat like the others. I also found I had a container of scratch grains that got wet and was turning bad, and pretty sure she had ate some of it, so I brought her inside, and mixed...
I just got my first incubator, ready to put some duck eggs in, but want to make sure I do everything right as best as I can so I’ve been reading and researching. One thing I noticed is I should have extra thermometers and hydrometers. So I got some, but I don’t know where to put them. I got this...
My son, halfway across the country is taking care of some chickens fora friend who left state on an emergency. there’s 10 hens about one-year-old and there is one male guinea in with them., my guess is the guinea may have injured the back of this hens neck and then the other hens probably made...
I can click on about a dozen or so likes and maybe post one or two things and then it freezes again. I have to shut it down and start over. This has been happening ever since my iPhone updated to the newest version. I figured it was the updates fault. So I uninstalled byc , reinstalled. Still...
