Honestly, I throw out all eggs when any of my birds are on antibiotics. There is a withdrawal period for any antibiotics that are given, and depending on the type you are feeding, the timeframe can differ. The general withdrawal period is 3-4 weeks after the last dose of antibiotic has been...
Hi everyone! I am looking for someone that can ship LF Lavender Ameraucana eggs to Canada. If you have some that you can send I would love to hear from you! Let me know how much you are asking for.
I will be getting some turkey eggs next week and I can't wait! I've been trying to hold off but I can't help myself. They are Royal Palm and Bourbon Red crosses, I may get some pures out of it but it doesn't matter to me as long as I get some poults.
I haven't had any eggs since late summer either. I changed my heat lamp from red to white and we'll see if that helps them a bit. I normally wouldn't have but they have all finished their molts a while ago and still nothing.
As the title says, I'm hoping to get some B/B/S Wyandotte eggs shipped up to Canada. I'm looking for the solid coloured birds NOT Blue laced Reds.
I understand the problems with shipped eggs and I do know that to get them exported across the border we need a NPIP certificate as well as the VS...

I know, what is with all the hens laying in the box the broody is in! I have other nest boxes for them, but NOOOOO. They have to lay were the broody is.
I have a broody Partridge Rock setting on 8 cross breed eggs. She actually started setting on July 1st. This same hen went broody on me last September but this is the first time I'm actually letting a hen hatch eggs for me so I'm kinda nervous.
I plan on moving her a couple of days before...
Here are my Silver Pencilled Hamburgs. They are still young so I'm hoping that when they molt their pencilling will be better, not to mention my cockeral will loose a lot of that black!
I have a little Basque roo (his names Dizzy). Sweetest little thing in the world, although he has his problems, he was born with only one eye and turns in circles when he eats but other than that he's great.
A few weeks ago I decided to move him into the main coop as he was the only chick to...
I have a quad of Silver Pencilled Hamburgs and I love them! Yes, mine came from a hatchery here in Canada but they are so friendly. I go in the coop and if I bend over to fill the feeder I have at least one of them on my back, if I'm standing they try to fly up my legs. Unfortunately, my quad...

The spots on the chest thing is only accurate with the pharoah and italian colours. It can't be done on the ranges, english whites etc. Trust JJ, he is one of the gurus here.
I keep mine on shavings that are changed weekly and as long as that is the only thing I change on them they don't stop laying for me. But I don't move their mates and they go back to the original cage. Maybe I'm lucky and my birds associate the clean shavings with their weekly dust bath.
I will...

I show German Shorthaired Pointers as well as hunt with them. I'm hoping that when I breed my girl this summer that there will be a show prospect for me to keep. My boy Logan won the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Canada National Specialty show last year and was #2 GSP in Canada for 2010...
Genetically speaking the GoldLaced and the black phase of the BLR are two different birds. From what I have read on here, you will get inferior colouring of the GL and brassy colouring on the BLR with alot of shafting in its feathers.
