    Nest box designs

Went to the coop one morning and had an orpington and silki in the same box. Half hour later there was an egg from both. Guess that's one way to feel secure.

    Neighbor's dog attacking chickens.

Dogs running loose in most areas is against the law. Also in most areas if they are attacking livestock you are permitted to shoot them. Find out if that's the case were you live. If so tell the neighbor what the law is and the next time the dog won't be coming home. Don't get me wrong I have...

    How cold is too cold?

Was minus 8 here this morning. Everyone is fine, door open but all stayed in all day. I know chickens are creatures of habit, but…

I have an automatic door, so if you're not in when the door closes find a place to sleep. Have a roo that was out free ranging and didn't want to come in their run when I went to close the gate. Told him he was on his own for the night. Has not been late since.

    Best chicken feeder and waterer????

To be sure to solve the sparrow problem, use a sparrow trap and eliminate them. I use a couple to get rid of them so my bluebirds can nest in peace.

Enemies in the gate: An awful puppy

Sounds like the puppy needs some obedience training. He has a strong pray drive and with some training with a firm no or leave it command you should have some control.

For your sparrow problem get a sparrow trap. They work great and you can get rid of a lot of them pretty quickly
