At 5:45am humidity was 37%, with the vent fully open (it's been halfway).

I didn't want to add more water until I could monitor it. I'll do that tonight when I get home.
I removed the turning tray tonight, added a shelf liner as per several sources
Tomorrow is Lockdown.
I also added one tablespoon of filtered water, humidity is up 3%.
In about an hour I'll check it again.
I sniffed the eggs in the incubator and those that Tamar is brooding, none smelled, and...
I raised both Joel and Samuel without an adult in the coop, just me, lots of hands on. Joel was good, respected me and took care of his girls. Samuel attacked me, his hens (rough mating) and his chicks.
I'm not sure handling can overcome genetics.
I started picking peas Sunday afternoon, but wound up pulling the plants, they were just about spent. It took two hours to shell them, and I now have 5 full cups of peas in the freezer.
:yesss:
KEEP HIM!!!
A good rooster is a joy. I've had both good and rotten.
I wonder if my cockerels being raised by a flock of hens will be a little more...mellow?
This evening after work I froze the peas I'd picked yesterday. I got 5 bags, each containing about one cup, or two servings. That's perfect for the dh and myself.
Here's hoping for successful integration.
:fl
Martha's acting broody again. If she's sitting in the nesting box when/if the incubator chicks hatch I may just slide them underneath her. She'd do a better job than I could.
Tomorrow is Lockdown, Day 18.
Today the chicks are six weeks old...the first three anyway (black chick, blue band, purple band). LC and lime green band will be six weeks on Thursday. 🥳🥳🥳
