I’m sorry for your loss. As far as the chicks go, broody hens should take care of the rest. If you want to have some nutri drench on hand, that’s great for ailing chicks.

You can, but don’t open the incubator to much, you do not want other eggs to get shrink wrapped or to lose heat.

If there’s a sack on her, I could be her yolk sac. Keep her in a small upright paper cup with a tissue in it. it should absorb on its own. Don’t cut it or remove it, its vital that the chick absorbs it on its own.

We have had our fair share of meat spots, but this one was by far the largest! It was laid by our Easter Egger, Sunny.

We have a duck named Katchka that hatched in April last year. Her left hip is slightly deformed, reducing mobility, so we have to be careful not to make her run to fast. Other than that, she doesn’t need any extra care, so I don’t know if that counts. ☺️

Hi everyone! Does anybody have any roosters/ hens that are 6 wks old? We are looking to add on to our flock, but dont want to end up with 6 roosters in the straight run bin from tractor supply. We are in Onondaga county. Thanks!

Entry 1! Marshmallow and her babies that hatched last year.

During the fall last season, one of our chickens got attacked across the back, and it ripped out all of her feathers, so it could be a coyote for sure.

Help! Our duck Walnut was lost to a preadtor today. We came outside to the sound of our dog violently barking, and after counting all of the ducks, they were all there. An hour later, she went missing. Some of her feathers are spewn across the yard, but there’s no trace of blood or any other...
