3 of them are a little over 2yrs old and 2 of them are a little over a year old.. so when I seen them the first time they were very thin little dark things moving.. now I just was out there looking through there poop and I seen something moving so I got a pic of it…it’s white.. I feed them...
I had a hen die a few days ago, I noticed another wasn’t acting like herself the next day.. started looking around inside the coop and found worms in poop. I went to TS and they gave me some medicated pellets. My baby, I love all my hens, but this one is my baby, she thinks she’s my lap dog, she...
I added 4 new chickens to my flock a few months ago, unfortunately 2 turned out to be roosters. And of course it’s time for one of them to go cause I only have 7 hens. The bigger rooster is a real butthole and he’s very aggressive with my hens. At first I thought it was that he is trying to mate...
My mom picked up some diatomaceous from TS for me and she came back with a different one that I had purchased last time. I opened it thinking that it was just a bigger bag so it looked different.. or so I was hoping anyway but this one is white and it was brown the last time I got it. I didn’t...
Thank you! After I seen your response I contacted wildlife and fisheries and found a rescuer for them so thank you so much for the advice! I talk to her yesterday and she said they all ate immediately and they are all doing great so far so that was great news.
Yes I got in touch with a wildlife rescuer and met her the next day. They are all thriving and doing well so far!😃 I had no idea it was illegal until I started researching someone to take care of them but I was so happy to find someone to take them.
I rescued 5 baby ducks that were stuck in my aunts swimming pool… do I need to worry about them giving my flock of chickens anything because they come from the wild? Do they need a heat lamp? What all do I need to know to keep them healthy until they are able to be released back into the wild...
I am so glad I talked to you! Thank you so so much! Sometimes I still feel like I’m not sure Ik what I’m doing and all my friends (who either don’t have chickens or just started a couple months ago) make me feel like I’m worrying over things that don’t matter or I’m babying my chickens to much...
Well they were never together, I would have my big girls free ranging in the yard and I would sit in the yard with the babies too. So they’d be out at the same time and my big girls didn’t want anything to do with them but they had the free range to choose not to have anything to do with them...
So, I have a flock of 5 adult hens, 4 Easter Eggers & a white leghorn. I recently decided to add to the flock & got 4 baby chicks, they are around 11 weeks old now.. 2 New Hampshire Reds, which have turned out to both be cockerels. The other two are pullets, an Australorp & a Silver Easter...
Ohh thank you! I am really excited about Lady! Okay so I have another question for you… so I’m wanting to start integrating them with my big girls, which is a flock of 5 (4 Easter Eggers & 1 leghorn) Ik I don’t have enough hens to have 2 roosters, I actually don’t plan on keeping neither of...
Oh no I don’t have a heat lamp on them, I live in Louisiana it is scorching hot! Lol that red reflection is the tarp I have over the run. So you can’t tell in the picture but she’s got a very small crest on top of her head.. I didn’t know the legbars have that.. when she first started getting...
Okay so I got 4 baby chicks about 2 months ago from my nieces maw maw. She didn’t really know for sure which chicks were which but she believed she had some New Hampshire Reds & Cinnamon Queens for sure.. so I’m pretty positive these are some New Hampshire Reds… I have 2 that we named Goldie and...
Yess that was my mistake.. I stopped putting shavings in their coop and just cleaned it out everyday. The wood was staying moist from their poop and also when it would rain the coop (their brand new coop has been more of a pain in the butt than the junk one I had thrown together when I first got...
Yea I learned that the hard way. I had stop putting shavings in their coop, I started just putting it in their nesting boxes and I would clean the poop out the coop every day. The wood would stay moist from their poop and also the coop leaks. When it would rain the shavings would get wet and I...
Okay, thank you so much! I wasn’t sure if pulling the scab off was doing it right or now cause I was watching youtube videos of ppl doing it and some pulled the scab off and some cut where it was bigger, got the puss out and then still removed the scab… but all the ones I watched where they...
I posted about my chickens Bumblefoot in another post but I’m still trying to figure out how to work the website and can’t find my post🥴 So a few of my chickens have Bumblefoot, all of their feet look like they are healing from me just putting meds… however I have one that hers was worse than...
This is her bad foot… the rest of my girls feet look way better so I think they are going to be fine but this is the one I’m probably going to have to get it out?
