I posted about this a while back, and I was told that he was indeed a black copper maran male, but I’m getting doubts now seeing how much red he’s got? Any ideas? @Chooks man or anyone else?
I was told this chicken was a blue copper maran from the local place I picked it up from. I’m worried that It might be an Australorp x BCM cross, I think it’s a female as well based off of age, she is 7 weeks old.
I’ve posted this here before, and I’ll post updated pics on all the chicks Saturday, but I thought that I’d ask for one. This dark Brahma is giving me roo vibes, and it’s color is confusing. (6 weeks)
Hey guys, I’ve got quite the list of chicks I’d like to take a gander on (see what I did there?) They are 4/1/2 weeks old, which is a little early, but I’d love some guesses on them.
(Each picture is a individual bird, and the marans are slightly younger, but I think the black copper is male...
What breed do you guys consider to be the most beautiful feather wise? Something that you wouldn’t get rid of ever, or a chicken that people who visit are awestruck by it’s looks?
Hey guys, I’m looking to once again get some spring chickens that I’m hoping to keep for a while, and I was looking to find a good egg layer, that has a good lifespan, at least 8 years. Any suggestions?
What place online can I order the most true to breed chickens, the ones I always see on pictures 😂 , but always turn out smaller or not up to my standards?
Ok, so I’ve got 2 speckled sussexes who I am really struggling to find out if they are male or female. They are also smaller then my other same aged chickens, is it possible that they are bantam? They are both around 7 weeks old. Thanks
I’ve got a couple of new peeps in the squad, was wondering if any females among them. I know at least 2 are 100% males. Around 6 weeks for all of them.
What are the chances that a dark egg color gene is passed down if the male is a black copper maran and the female is a brown egg layer, like an australorp or a rir?
