Thank you for your reply!
The feed is from Tractor Supply and high quality.
He’s eating ok.
We don’t give too many treats as I know too much is not a good idea.
I was told to give him a bath in Dawn detergent and we are treating him for mites, but I’m not sure that is the problem.
He does get...
Hi!
We now have 12 lovely ducks, 2 Pekins and 10 Muscovy’s. We have a new mommy who’s sitting on 8 eggs and doing well.
It was a hard winter keeping up with the heat lamps and making sure they were all warm enough.
Our boy Franklin (who has scoliosis) is doing well and is never picked on. He...
Their diet consists of high quality feed, lots of greens, fresh vegetables and fruits. Extra fatty supplements during the winter.
We do have other drakes and we cameras to watch for bullies. I’m afraid he’s dying!!
Good afternoon,
After losing his mate, my male Pekin has not been himself, and over the past month he has stopped bathing and something is VERY WRONG because he looks TERRIBLE!!
He has several sores and is a complete MESS!!
We keep our coupe immaculate and they are all very well cared for a...
Hi!
Yes! I just mentioned that the last 2 could be Mules!! Even though our new baby looks like a Muscovy he hatched at 32 days exactly. 🥰
So, our last one externally pipped last night and I’m thinking that this one is also a Mule, because they are hatching at 32 days.
Our little yellow one...
Thank you!!! 🩷
We didn’t think he was going to make it last night. He was limp and had very shallow breathing. So I held him to my chest all night and this morning he did a complete recovery ❤️🩹
He’s so active! Eating, drinking, running around and playing with his older brother/sister...
It’s from our flock.
We have 2 Pekins and 6 Muscovy’s. These eggs were together and the first hatched a week ago and is all yellow, not at all like our black and yellow Muscovy ducklings.
Our new baby is definitely a Muscovy but he hatched 4 days early and he was very big!
At first we didn’t...
He’s a Muscovy and on day 32. He’s 3-4 days premature, but he’s BIG! I’m so worried that I think I’m going to leave work.
We thought he was a Pekin because the eggs were together, but our Pekin hatched on Friday is is yellow. This guy is definitely a Muscovy! Much longer incubation time!
Here’s what his belly looks like. I know they are blurry but I’m at work and my husband is afraid to take him out of the incubator because he’s still wet.
I can’t see if his yolk sac is absorbed because he’s not getting good pictures!! Ugh!
It’s only day 32 for him.
I’m ready to leave work and...
PLEASE HELP!
We have a Muscovy that was not due until Sunday. We couldn’t stop him from hatching and now he’s dragging around the bottom half of the shell that is still ATTACHED by some stringy material.
I know I should NEVER pull it off, but I’m a wreak and don’t know what to do!
Oh yes, he has a stuffed animal and a little nest with a baby blanket. I’m looking everywhere for a mirror and if I can’t find one I’m going to run to Walmart. I should have had one ready!! I’m just wondering what’s going on with the other egg. It’s the same age but hasn’t internally pipped yet...
Maybe! Pekins are yellow until they get their adult feathers. The ducklings are yellow, and Muscovy ducklings are brown and yellow or black and yellow.
I never had a pure yellow duckling before. He needs to be cleaned a bit, he has some “goo” left over on him from hatching, but I don’t want him...
Thank you!
You were right!!
We have our first Pekin duckling and he hatched totally on his own, unlike any of our Muscovy’s that all needed assistance.
I’m hoping that the other egg that is the same age hatches soon because I heard that they can die of loneliness even though we have been holding...
Our first baby hatched last night beautifully!
He must be a pure Pekin seeing the date and his pure yellow feathers.
I hope that the other one hatches soon because he’s all alone! 😢
He’s the sweetest little baby and our first Pekin duckling, as we rescued his parents!
Hi!
Yes, they were straight across and now they are wavy, more to one side and dipped way down you said.
This hatch is so confusing because I just don’t know if they are pure Muscovy, pure Pekin or crossed. It’s day 27 and they are in lockdown as I was informed to do, but if they are pure...
Hi!
I don’t see any beak movement though, I don’t think it’s pipped internally yet and today is day 27. But if they are a cross it may take a bit longer than if they are pure Pekins, and if they are pure Muscovy’s then they have much more time, but I was informed to put them in lockdown. Could...
Thank you! That’s good to know because today is day 27 and no internal pipping yet and what’s up with the air sacks? Are they supposed to move and get wavy?? 🧐
