    Help! Quail acting strange

Thanks everyone for your help. Unfortunately she died throughout the night. She was looking so good and was drinking on her own. In the morning she was covered in water and dead. Not sure if she drowned or if she may have froze to death or died from whatever was originally wrong with her.

    Help! Quail acting strange

Hi! Thanks, she is trying to eat. Poop was white, I haven’t seen much of it yet. I just noticed this so I’m not sure yet, about eating drinking etc. I am trying to hand feed her egg yolk, and just started vitamin E. It seems to look like wry neck as another person commented. I’m feeding her...

    Help! Quail acting strange

Thanks so much, I googled this and it looks exactly like it. I have her separated and was hand feeding egg yolk, but it’s a very long slow process hand feeding. I also gave her some vitamin E. I must go get vitamin B now too. I’m feeding game Turkey feed, I have never had issues with that food...

    Help! Quail acting strange

My quail is turning head to side and going in circles, falling over, and just not acting correctly. Any and all help appreciated. I’m not sure what’s wrong with her. No blood or injuries I could notice. She does seem like she lost weight, but I could be wrong.

    Quail male blinded from bully

I just want to first say thank you to you all for your comments and answers. They helped me. I also wanted to update that I had him separated and isolated at first.... But he was very lonely and crowed all day. (Even though he was right under the other two). Because the female he was bonded with...

    Quail male blinded from bully

For months now, I had my female and male pair of quails that were bonded together in the garage. They both seemed very happy. A quite a few weeks back my crossbeak had gotten attacked so I put her in with the pair to heal. They were all together for months, fine. We recently built new cages for...

    Male crowing

My male quail has been pretty quiet for most of the summer, now he won’t stop crowing!! I know he has bonded with one female. So I never separate them. If he is in the garage, he only does his early morning crow. However all day he cries outside. We do have some morning doves and other birds the...

    Quail aviary ground help!

Thanks! Maybe that will work for the garage. I hear you about the wire, definitely easier to clean... who knew quail were so much work. I love them, but they definitely take time and energy. Especially in the beginning before you have heard or read a few things! I’m hoping one day I will be an...

    Quail aviary ground help!

Thank you soo much! You have given me so many great ideas! I think the wood chips will be our new flooring as that does seem a bit easier. I heard of “Back to Eden” woodchips for gardening.. so this sounds similar. This is something that sounds very doable for us. How do you find natural un dyed...

    Quail aviary ground help!

Yes, I would agree. We haven’t figured out an alternative plan yet. We really don’t want to kill the Roos. I know in winter they will be in the garage, but I like them in the fresh air as long as possible. Ideally we would love to move to get more land, but we have to wait a year. They are still...

    Quail aviary ground help!

Hi! So after hatching eggs, and getting all the ratios right, and making sure none are bullying.. the next problem is aviary floor. Our aviary has clay hard dirt floor. Today I saw flies and mold/fungus in one area. I swept out as much as I could. This is a small area for humans to get my big...
